I have a hunch that they will all test negative. But on review they will find 8 positive tests, all foreigners, who acquired the disease somewhere else, probably the USA.
It's good news for those who are furloughed, but not so great for both the economy and those companies who really need to get people back into their warehouses and stores, but it's just a guessing game. I think we'll still be seeing lockdowns enforced at various stages over the next 18 months as the peaks and troughs of "The Curve" fluctuate, until either a vaccine or cure is developed.
As of May 1st all cause mortality in excess of expectations - 50,745. (By now probably well over 60k, Stick usually works this out and is always right when the official numbers catch up). To that date 36,000 death certificates had COVID19 on them. In March Sir Patrick Vallance said, at the Health Select Committee: “If we can get numbers down to 20,000 and below, that's a good outcome in terms of where we would hope to get to with this outbreak.“ Has he, or anyone connected to the current strategy, whether politician or advisor, said ‘things are not going as well as we hoped’ at any stage? Because clearly they aren’t. Exactly why should we have any confidence in these people?
Just bumped into, in a socially distanced way, a mate of mine who runs a garden landscaping business. He has plenty of work on (outside, nice and safe) but is having a nightmare getting supplies and has a couple of self employed blokes to help him, neither of whom show any inclination to go back to work as apparently they are satisfied with whatever they are getting from the government.
Really? I'm self-employed, I'm two days into a two week enforced break due to running out of hardware, and I'm climbing the walls already!
Our Health Minister has confirmed that if anyone travels to Ireland from overseas including Britain they will have to isolate for 2 weeks...….so clear message Stay Away...... Also doesn't expect anyone from Ireland to travel overseas on holiday...... https://www.msn.com/en-ie/news/news...y-abroad-unlikely/ar-BB13XiKO?ocid=spartandhp
I'm done and dusted after this week. I can apply for the self employment scheme from 8am on the 15th apparantly.
Seems to me we are at a tipping point. We cannot afford financially to maintain a strict lockdown, but we cannot afford NHS and health-wise for life to go back to normal. If people get silly about avoidance measures now and that leads to a greater lockdown again, then I could see police enforcement being much more rigorous on the next loosen-up to avoid bankrupting the nation
To be honest Goldie, this week I’ve noticed at work ‘normality’ is returning fast. Started getting the calls again that really don’t need an ambulance and it seems the public are fast forgetting how to care for themselves.
Amazing that this virus has been around over 4 months and European governments still haven't managed to organise the production of half decent masks for everyone, even with millions having no other work to do. I thought the UK's make your own from an old tshirt was some sort of sick joke when I saw it, but apparently not.
Just as the lockdown was too late and most likely caused hundreds of deaths, I feel the unlock is too early and will do the exact same. This government really need to get a grip of the situation now. It's been over 4 ****ing months and they still dont know their arse from their elbow.
