You'd get good ticking off for spelling his name wrongly if he was still around.

Even those stats are slightly misleading, I saw a report on the original 119 deaths announced within the NHS and 13 of them were retired NHS workers who weren't working at the time they contracted the virus, seven were administrative staff with no direct patient contact, two were cleaners, five were ambulance drivers/paramedics, one was a dentist and two were porters. The bulk were still doctors and nurses, but a fair few counted as NHS workers weren't actually on the front line at the time they got ill.

Just in case anyone has a funeral coming up, Haltemprice Crematorium has just increased the maximum attendance from 10 people to 20 people.

For anyone wading through the Government plan - School section is on p34 of the pdf - (which is handily labelled as page 30)..... More #DFE uselessness

Can someone explain to me how it isn't safe enough for an adult to go and have their hair cut till 4th July at the earliest, but it is ok for thirty 4yo to return to a reception classroom at the start of June? Or how its ok for a teacher to be in a classroom with thirty 4yo from random households but not to mix with their own family members?

The Government wants all primary school pupils to return to school for a month before the summer. I want a stress free job, a muscular body and a French wine bar at home. That aint happening. Wishful thinking.

I don't want to be a lert, I want to be alive. #nolertsthanksBozza

If you keep the message vague and confused you can blame the public if/when it all goes tits up - this is Bojo taking a leaf from the POTUS playbook.

Had a flick through the guidance they’ve just released: https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...ls-and-other-educational-settings-from-1-june

Schools can open to smaller groups of pupils each day (Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 first).

Schools can open for shorter days

Pupils will not be fined for not attending

Child/member of staff should be sent home if showing symptoms. Should they then be tested positive, their group to isolate until tested too.

It seems to me they’re suggesting we put kids and staff into small groups (I’ve seen “10 kids/1-2 adults” being banded about) so that should somebody test positive, it should be limited to that smaller group.

I came in a bit late for the briefing but was reading the banner things at the bottom stating that certain areas of the country may well remain in lockdown longer... I wonder how those cities will react to that...

No I haven't seen any such breakdown. No doubt those numbers will form part of the great post virus inquest. With no underlying medical condition, to the final nudge over the edge. And then categorising the underlying illnesses. Perhaps to the extent of reviewing any samples taken before this was declared to be a pandemic. The because of to include cancer patients, for example, and all those who would have received some kind of routine medical intervention that had to be cancelled.
