"Dynamo Dresden, who play in the second tier of German Football, have put their entire squad and coaching staff into two-week isolation after two players tested positive for coronavirus. It's looking ever more likely the Championship will go for finishing based on points per game played. It seems the right thing to do IMO, clubs can then plan for next season and sort out contracts and squads.
Cunning plan to throw a spanner in the Premier Leagues plan to restart games. Not fair we can't play, our players have the virus. Void the season as it is now. Edit. **** I thought they were in the relegation zone already.
German clubs are now in hotels awaiting the restart of the season, some behind closed doors warm-up games have already been played.
The government has announced that no professional sport, even behind closed doors, will be staged in England until 1st June (BBC Sport).
At the earliest (although i expect the 1st June date will be the date for the next step in changes, given it is relatively close, despite them putting the caveats in saying it could change)
At the moment, the Premier League still seem to be aiming for June 12th, but they can't even get the clubs to agree to the neutral venues (which the whole thing apparently hinges on). FA chairman Greg Clarke has just told the Premier League clubs that the governing body will block any attempt to void season or scrap relegation.
They have announced that they are looking at both home and away games again. Just how deluded are these dudes?
Mare Imbrium is large enough to mark out 92 football pitches. Just get Dickie Branson(or NASA) to arrange a few launches for players & officials. That should deter the ****wit supporters. please log in to view this image
Premier League clubs have been told they could have to repay an estimated £340m to domestic and international broadcasters - even if the season resumes behind closed doors. And BBC Sport has learned the clubs were warned on Monday that figure could rise if the season is curtailed or if relegation is scrapped.
