Reports last night saying that the premiership tests cannot block the takeover in its current format but that they will reluctantly approve things. However they are going to change things for future tests to tighten up on things and consider piracy etc.
means it's done just the transfer mate... could be today .. I would imagine it passed a few days before this report,
That is what the daily fail are saying. The PL really are getting their knickers in a twist over this. The test is not about morality or accusations. KIt is about facts and finance
Possibly and I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up or anything but I did read about 7 May somewhere I just can’t find the sauce.
It’s probably right to be fair. I can’t see them blocking it due to the piracy thing. But the human rights thing is a separate issue. I think the premier league tests are not designed to cover piracy and other external factors. Just facts.
The conditions of the test are written down. Piracy is not a CONSIDERATION. Finances, business plan and criminal convictions. Morality no. The PL can't change the test during this takeover. It's done and will be announced. Evidence? The fact that they are even considering changing it.
it's just a way of covering their own arse from the backlash. They're saying sorry we had to pass it.. a nice play from them.
Aye. They aren't sorry though because they know that the Saudis will plough millions into a TV rights bid. Will they block that? Not a chance.
It sounds like something which is likely true - as Chaos says, it's a very good way of covering themselves and diluting direct criticism... An 'it's the fault of the previous leadership' kind of thing. However what you have essentially said there is: Evidence? A Daily Mail article.
True. I wouldn't believe the Daily Fail. If the test is changed after this then that will be interesting. I think deep down, we all know this is all but complete. It's just the waiting that makes people doubt it.
I am almost beginning to believe that a takeover could in the medium term have a positive impact on how KSA conducts itself. It will be using NUFC as publicity but that can go both ways. Take the situation of KSA imprisoning, torturing, chopping up, etc someone new. If a quarter of the crowd at SJP started a chant about it, that would be broadcast around the world. It could be much more embarrassing than anything Amnesty International could bring to bear. Or I may be lying to myself. The advantage of lying to yourself, of course, is that you know just how much you're prepared to believe.
