I’m not on Facebook, but I feel your pain. I have a cousin who posts all sorts of drivel on a WhatsApp group. I think since Brexit she has been identified as a consumer of lunatic conspiracy nonsense and right wing populist idiocy. That’s how some pretty unsavoury groups operate on Social Media I believe - identify and target the weak minded. I nearly stopped having anything to do with her when the completely unfunny, and in the latter case obviously racist, Jeremy Corbyn and Diane Abbott memes were a regular feature. Sadiq Khan is another regular target; can’t think why. I’ll rephrase that actually; I Khan’t think why. Anyway she stopped when I asked her. Now it’s just stuff about how great the NHS is. I don’t bother pointing out how she had almost certainly been led to believe the NHS is an unaffordable communist pipe dream ripe for privatisation, until quite recently.
I got to know him recently through my previous job and this is a big loss. He was an unassuming and gentle chap who was hugely talented.
Is she an actual friend or just a facebook friend? If the latter just tell her to shut the **** up. Bit more tricky if the former.
Comment on each of her posts with ridiculous gifs until she gets annoyed and blocks you is my advice.
Actually a 'friend' of Mrs No7. I've always said she is a fruitcake and avoid her like the plague, but Mrs No7 just says I hate her having friends lol. She went on a protest last Saturday on a hill opposite some traffic in Poole against the lockdown...her and about 30 others. All holding hands singing "we shall not be moved". So not only a fruitcake, but inconsiderate to the rest of us who may have lost jobs etc, by staying in.
Maybe you should tell her to get out and about. Maybe when she gets stopped and fined by the police she might take it seriously.
Apparently it is my duty to download this App according to the Government. Had it not been developed by the company associated with that slug Cummins and which played a big part in misleading the country over Brexit I might have thought about it before saying you have to be ****ing joking. The intelligence gathered by this app is bound to be miss-used by this rather shoddy bunch of right wing ultras ruining the country when it comes to the next election. I would rather (to quote the twat who is Prime Minster) rather chuck my phone in a ditch than download this App. This App is very, very dangerous. It is a threat to our freedom.
Never forget that Jesus loves you and his blood will save you from this virus. I know that because an American lady said it on You Tube.
10 players and staff, from the top two divisions in Germany, have tested positive for Covid-19. They have been back in training for about 1month.
Some legal advice on smartphone contact tracing has been published: https://www.matrixlaw.co.uk/news/legal-advice-on-smartphone-contact-tracing-published/
I can’t help but be amused by the people complaining on Facebook about their data being collected by this app. Irony, it appears, is lost.
I’m not on Facebook. But Facebook owns WhatsApp. Hard to steer clear of these bastards. Sometimes I do think we’re living through the End Times.
UK now has the highest death toll in Europe, with the latest figures from the ONS showing the total is now over 32,000: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...h-toll-rises-above-32000-to-highest-in-europe
The excess death numbers are the scary ones of 50%+ also with regional variations to take into account. To depressing to find and post, the info's out there should anyone want the actual figures and rational. Care home and community deaths not peaked yet with reporting lagging. How anything but limited lifting can be considered beggars belief as does the attitude of the gung ho lets go nutters that every country seems to have.
Unfortunately that was inevitable because we took so long to lockdown. I called this when Italys cases were skyrocketing and we hadn't even gone into lockdown yet.
I briefly saw some footage of an aer lingus flight, into the UK, with absolutely no effort made to isolate passengers. Passengers were sitting 3 abreast, both sides of the aisle, and you can guarantee that they weren’t health checked when leaving the plane and there is no guarantee that they will self isolate. One could be forgiven for thinking that this is part of the government’s previously ill considered, herd immunity strategy.
It was from Belfast but I wouldn't have boarded in those circumstances. Shouldn't have been allowed to take bookings at that density, negligence charges?
