Personally, I think the EFL will be declared null and void at some point soon, with the top 3 promoted and the bottom 3 (or 4 in lge 2) relegated. The Premiership will continue to explore ridiculous options for playing behind closed doors, at neutral venues, ignoring the obvious risks to players, officials, ground staff etc, all for financial gain but cleverly disguised as ' maintaining the integrity of the league'. What a load of bollocks! Their integrity would be greater if they did the right thing and null and voided the season now, allowing the players to stay safe with their families etc. As to what I hope will happen, I feel that unless a miracle end to this plague suddenly transpires, which doesn't seem likely anytime soon, ALL football should be null and voided now, with no relegation, no promotion, and when it is safe to start next season, whether it be in August or later, then all teams will start from the same point that they started this season, zero games played, zero points. Whatever happens, there will always be 'winners' and 'losers', but as these are exceptional circumstances, the clubs involved will just have to take it on the chin. I still believe that before this ends, many clubs in the lower leagues ( and I wouldn't rule us out of this possibility), will end up going out of business, and it really irritates me that the Premier league are only interested in their revenue, whilst many smaller clubs are fighting for survival. Plus to be honest, if I was a professional footballer, the last thing I would be prepared to do anytime soon, would be to return to playing football and having close contact with my own team mates or the opposition players, and I wouldn't care what precautions were put in place or how many tests they gave me!

They were talking at one time recently about bringing back the North / South divide of the divisions. Maybe they could do this with the championship / league 1 and league 2 and the National league. no promotions / relegation's. I know this would upset some clubs including our City neighbours who still hope for a playoff place but it would cut down the danger of the virus spreading
I also believe they have put back the international world or European competitions for a year so that would take pressure of the premiership clubs. Whatever they decide will be wrong in somebodies eyes but health must come before anything else. Lets hope common sense prevails

Im totally with GWR on this for scrubbing the season but make it null and void totally with no ups and no downs and no champions { sorry Liverpool } expunge it from footballing history completely due to the unprecidented circumstances.

As with regards to next season I cannot realistically see this happening until 2021 so if say we start around January why not a 23 game season playing each team just the once, fixtures out of the hat for home and aways but an equal amount of both and then hopefully by the summer of '21 the medical boffins would of come up with a vaccine and the 21/22 season can kick on as usual.

Football is definetely in for change over this coming twelve months or so and I just hope that all of the clubs can get through it.
