Talking of which, I wonder how many six-fingered PPE gloves the NHS have managed to source? :emoticon-0108-speec

Evening all. Hope everyone is ok? <ok>

Am hoping that football will be back with us all soon....perhaps June....behind closed doors obviously. It’s not because of the title....although that would be nice, but because a lot of people need something to take their mind off the daily grind that we are all in. Whether it will happen or not, who knows....

I hope all is ok for them. When all you do is worry without having the ability to try to do something about it, it’s the worst time.

Are you the thought police now <laugh>

David Icke is a crank and now we know Lovren is too. Hardly a stackable offence.
If a vaccine is found a lot sooner than we first thought and players have to have it in order to play, it won't make much difference to his contribution for us :bandit:

George Galloway mentioned this a few weeks back, that the UK is likely to have the second highest number of deaths on the planet. This despite
a tiny percentage of population. You have to ask why? :(

Well it was #predicted by the scientific models based on the Tories' appalling response and policies

Here's my post from April 11:

That 37,000 is now looking very optimisitic. Probably due to the continuing refusal to provide PPE to the NHS.

There's a really good YouTube channel called UnHerd. There are interviews with real scientists, as opposed to those with a political agenda, from around Europe with mixed views on approaches and responses to the virus. One of the interesting points to come up which has been repeated by a few on there is - come back in a year to see which countries actually had the right response. The figures atm won't show, for example, if herd immunity was the thing to do as Sweden are doing.

I must admit having watched a couple of the videos I wasn't impressed with Ferguson and how incompetent he comes across and I was surprised with how the science really seems to favour soft lockdown, which is where the 'come back in a year and check figures ' comes in.

Greece went into lockdown hard and is now starting to relax it with only 146 deaths. AFAIK this is because they genuinely wanted to protect their health service, rather than just use it as a campaign slogan. We have more NHS staff deaths than all deaths in Greece (smaller country but FFS)!

IMO (not an expert) this was the correct response. Hard but short lockdown to avoid the initial wave, then let society get used to ongoing reasonable social distancing measures to reduce the secondary waves.

The Tories wasted crucial weeks on herd immunity and now the UK will pay twice for it in massively higher deaths and a bigger economic impact.
