The return of a Pompey youngster?

    Rumours are circulating this evening (not from any highly regarded source - mainly Pompey facebook page) is that "Portsmouth want to re-sign Matt Ritchie from Swindon, and are prepared to send Australian midfielder Ryan Williams to the County Ground as part of the deal".

    There is also another rumour floating around that we will be signing old Fratton favourite Lua Lua next week <doh>

    Can't see very much truth in either of these rumours, but... Though that it may be worth posting :)

    Can't see any truth in that rumour - Cotterill has made quite clear he sees a future at Pompey for Ryan Williams.

    Ryan Williams would only go out on loan, right? If not, I'd much rather keep Williams. <ok>

    Williams is much better than Ritchie, I would say Williams is better than Lawrence to be honest <laugh>

    LuaLua is a free agent and would therefore not command a transfer fee or be subject to any transfer window.

    Since leaving Pompey he has had two spells at Olympiacos in Greece, interrupted by a season at Al-Arabi of Qatar. He spent last season in Cyprus with Omonia Nicosia, in a season that saw them finish as runners up in the league and Cypriot Cup winners. Last season he scored 8 goals in 19 games

    Did you see him play devo ? He was a brilliant player when last at FP - who can ever forget his 'demolition' of Saints in the 4-1 win over poor old 'Arry !!

    Mind you, didn't he have domestic problems with his wife / partner last time he was with us ? If so, possibly too much baggage.

    He was at FP on Saturday because he's due to sign for Blackpool pretty soon <ok>
