Cause of death is the responsibility of the Doctor who certifies the deceased. Unless there’s any potential suspicious circumstances and then the responsibility moves to the coroner. The idea that there’d even be a consideration of an autopsy on a bloke in his 80’s with suspected COVID is ridiculous. What’s obvs happened here is that the relative has been asked to sign the death certification as what they call the informant. This is part of the process of certifying a death.

Very much my experience. Had to sign for an Uncle and the old girl ... his was cancer, her's COPD and Pneumonia... if there is more than one cause (I.e. underlying like my mum's COPD) then it will also be listed... the Pneumonia actually took her ...

It makes no sense to me either. For someone that is sceptical about everything aberdude, did you not think to ask what this document was that your work colleague signed?

Also I very much doubt that a relative would have a say, regarding a postmortem, I'd have thought you would just have to wait until a decision is made. Sounds by the way you are explaining it, that a criminal offence has taken place, and the body would need to be exhumed, to carry out tests, that were not completed before the body was buried.

The need for a postmortem after cause of death only occurs if the coroner isnt fully satisfied with the cause of death. At this point to try to prevent a postmortem you can go back to the consultant and ask them to provide further clarification and hope this is enough to satisfy the coroner to issue the death certificate. At this point you're really relying on the empathy and compassion of both to understand your grief and sensitivities about a postmortem in order to do all they can to prevent one being needed. But that is all you can do.

Surely the Government would want the figure to be as low as possible to show that it was doing well.

Pretty sure it’s a pandemic, bro. Seems to be happening in quite a lot of the world and they’ve closed the pubs.

Fk it must be a pandemic if they closed the pubs...... Many of which were struggling before because of low numbers but that's beside the point..... Anyway lucky football and other sports recognised the risk of spreading it two weeks before Boris johnsons team of experts did.

Like I've said before viruses will come and they will go.........lets hope experts don't ignore the results of the next simulation run on disease outbreaks like they did on this one

It still don't answer what the document was that his work colleague signed, surely we need to establish what that was first, as it was the main point of aberdudes claim?

just in case anyone had wondered my neighbours have been doing up their garden pretty much every day for the last 6 weeks and it just looks a disorganised mess.

some people!!

I agree.

I don't understand why aberdude didn't say death certificate in the first place, it's like he's trying to create some air of mystery around it.

So the guy died of Covid or related to it. I'm being told by the other poster, something about government manipulating figures, but if the cause was Covid and registered as such.... I'm missing something clearly on this Saturday morning.

I'm not doubting there's a nasty virus spreading the world but I'm a bugger for the use of words that create fear like terror and pandemics.......... Yes people are losing lives from this and yes some are taking full advantage of it.

"Pandemic" simply means a disease prevalent across a country or the world ... if you can come up with a more accurate description of Covid-19, I'd be happy to use it <cheers>

Possibly wrong as I haven’t got a clue what’s going on once aberdude gets going but I think the point is that the official death figure only includes those tested so those not tested but with Covid on the death certificate aren’t. I think that’s his point anyway.

I ain't reading back on threads, people just talking shhite this morning. Guy dies, so let's make a big mystery about it. Was he abducted by aliens. Did the Virus come from outer space. What's the Chinese connection, does Trump have traces of DNA from a bygone dinosaur. Not606 the place that brings you exclusives.

I've thought it was manufactured from the start. This is a Chinese **** up.

Just a hunch really, got no evidence to back it up. It just does not 'seem' a natural occurrence, it doesn't ring true, and there is a lot of bullshit out there about it.

I think he was saying the opposite that people are having Covid put down as cause of death when it isn’t. But like you say once aberdude gets going who knows what crazy path he is going down.
