I'm no Bruce fan. I was appauled that Rafa was allowed to leave, and then doubly appauled for him to be replaced with Bruce. 2 questions: Q1) has he a better quality team than Rafa had? I'd say no - no goalscorers now. Q2) if he's so dire, how come this worse team is doing relatively OK (Cup /league)? I know he's not the future but I think Bruce has put his heart and soul into the job and deserves to be treated fairly.
if he does I still think he will come good.. fans are too quick to jump on players. The lad wasn't even training at Hamburg, so was always going to struggle at first. He tries to pass in a side that doesnt know how too. Sean longstaff has been worse all season tbh.. Benteleb at Tottenham was class.. just saying time gets given to some and none to others for some reason. post west brom he spoke of the honour it was to play for the club... he didnt have to say it cos it wasnt the interviewer fishing for it , so I like him
Obviously not the future, he probably wouldn't expect it himself. I agree though that he's put his heart and soul into the job, and whilst the football has been dire at times, he's on the cusp of achieving his goal of PL safety. It wasn't exactly better with his predessors. There's quite a few fans who should get their heads out of their arses and maybe have a light-bulb moment before realising had he ****ed up, there probably wouldn't be a takeover. A thankless job at the best of times.
1. No because we didn't replace Rondon, but Bruce knew Joelinton was incoming as the new no.9 before he signed. 2. That team would run itself after 3 years of defence being drilled in to them. We are bottom of every attacking stat in the league. The cup run consists of beating two league one opposition after 180 mins and West Brom, if we'd beaten City than I'd have said fair enough. It's all opinions like but I don't think Bruce is owed anything, done a solid job and that was it. We need to take a leaf out of his book and be ruthless, like when he left Sheffield Wednesday or Palace.
Thankfully he's got our defenders to being able to score the goals in tight games. Rafa's team's goals have been removed from the side - Where would Bruce's team be with Rondon and Perez in the side?
Broadly agree with what that, but there's no denying that we've had the rub of the green this season and the majority of players have gone backwards. Bruce has rarely shown loyalty to clubs in the past and it'd be an act of self-harm if he retained his position beyond season's end.
