I would imagine we're cheaper to run than NUFC. Lower wage bill, less maintenance on the ground etc. I want the Allams to leave as much as anyone else but I can't say I'd be over the moon with Mike Ashley. At the heart of it all he's deeply unethical in the way he makes his money. I might start following Forest Green.
How unethical is he? I’m no fan of his, I think he’s a ****, but is he much less ethical than other big business owners?
No he isn't, the press just seem to like to make him out to be the worst of the worst... There are loads that are the same and or worse then he is.
Their vegan samosas are surprisingly rather tasty. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Mike Ashley? If there's anything more important than his ego, it should be caught and shot now. He's a frood who really knows where his towel is. I mean he's just this guy, you know? He's up to here with cool, okay? He's so amazingly cool you could keep a side of meat in him for a month. He's so hip he has difficulty seeing over his pelvis. Hang on. I'm may be confusing him with the President of the Galaxy. After all, the extra arm suits him.
Leaving aside ethics. Hoyle at Hudders was held up as a great chairman but https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52049672 How long before Gibbo at Borer or his grasping family decide they want to cash out and present the bill?
I can't think there's many of the old school, fan-owner, e.g. Harold Needler, remaining as owners. The majority of them today appear to be money conscious businessmen in the mould of Blaster Bates and Ashley.
Or increasingly some wealthy foreign owner or consortium with no real love or understanding of the game and what it means to the fans who (used to) turn up every week. Did I mention they often come from places with poor human rights, massive wealth inequality, a democratic deficit and have questionable sources of wealth?
