Watching the news I see mixed messages for masks, I'm all for them there's wide range available. one for boris
Very good post, and I also agree you can't seperate political decisions from how they affect managing the virus. They are inter-twined, but all the regular posts on this thread only ever concentrate on what the government have done wrong. Every news item, every quote, every opinion is negative, round and round we go covering the same topic. We all know we are in terrible situation but everything is aimed at bad news, it's depressing. As an example, on a previous page a positive post from Bob's Mate about vaccines has had (apart from me) no likes, no comments. Has anyone even bothered to read it? You get the impression that this thread is only about government mismanagement and any good news is ignored.
That’s interesting, thanks for that. I was surprised to find The Sunday Times being critical of the government. Will The Sun and Mail also begin to take a slightly less partisan approach in future, or is that too much to hope for?

I will think your find that link had been shared a few times before (once by me ref vaccines) so not the first time most had seen it. And I think everyone is fed up of the Tory success spin on everything when clearly it’s not. Piers Morgan is having a field day with the ministers ........they are making it too easy for him.
The one on the right is probably not a plague doctor's outfit. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-52456180
[/QUOTE] Similar but not the same by any means richie. The nytimes article goes into much greater details such as why the Oxford team were ahead of the game, how the vaccine has been developed and the success of tests on macaque monkeys. There are other interesting points in the article which in general is positive in it's outlook. Which was my point in the first place, no one in this thread seems to be interested in positive news.
