Redevelopment. Finished in March '95, apparently. The stadium didn't have much done to it after that until we built the new one.
Sunderland's last season at Roker Park, which ended in relegation, sadly. Paul Stewart played for them in this campaign, though this was one of the handful of matches that he missed.
Anyone at this one? Wolves quickly phased out their stripes after this season and moved to something a lot closer to their current kit.
Wonderful old film PNP, how I wish my Dad could see it. All his childhood heroes! I grew up knowing the names Jimmy Dimmock, Jimmy Seed, Arthur Grimsdell etc.etc.(memory is going a bit fuzzy now, I've forgotten the rest!) He would have been 14 at the time so had to wait 40 years for the next one but then caught all the Glory years, so well worth the wait! I love the crowd scenes, they were just like that in the 50's/60's with the great 'surges' forward. All good fun & a normal match day experience for a big game, I don't ever remember anyone getting hurt, in fact we'd all be laughing Hope everyone is safe & well, COYS.

Poor quality video from a pretty obnoxious game, but it did end in the most spectacular, middle-fingered way...
I can picture it now "So, Mauricio, about these rumours of you joining Newcastle?" "Can we talk about the ****ing match for once???"
