I think the idea that people will be able to get through the next 12 months WITHOUT catching it is wishful thinking to be honest mate.
The whole idea from the start of lockdown was to not overwhelm the NHS, thus making sure that ventilators, beds etc are available for everyone who needs one.
Unless a cure/vaccine is found very quickly, deaths are going to continue.
I’m not saying it to be a **** (a lot of my family have health conditions which make them vulnerable to it) just my take on it.
All the best to you mate. Genuinely.

    ^^^^^ this.
I get that there will be essential bits and bobs required from DIY/ hardware shops, but I’m not sure people, out of boredom, need to go to B&Q to buy a yucca tree!

One of the other interesting things about DIY Stores (that I read) was they are only taking card payments, not cash. Now I would assume this is to prevent the check out operator touching cash that you hand to them. But hang on, as in a supermarket, the same rules, but those checkout operators are scanning items you have touched. And while in any store you may touch an item, another customer has touched and visa versa. I know I'm being cynical in all this but as the measures come about and evolve, there is part of me that says, are we paying by card to reduce contact or is this the opportunity retailers and banks have always been looking for to introduce a cashless society, I'd like to believe the former, but I remain cycnical to the latter.

It’s not to any retailers advantage to take card payments only. As there’s a transaction fee and percentage charge for every bill and if the customer pays with credit card it’s a higher %age. The rates went up massively about 2 years back. ****s.

I know one of the card providers got done quite a few years back, as it was found they were giving incentives to promote card payments, I'll have to try and find the article. I remain suspicious or maybe I just don't trust no fooker <laugh>

It's not really a choice for them imo...if they stop isolation before it's safe then they could be risking the lives of loved ones. The government's furloughed scheme should be made available to them by the government.
The idea of be sacked or risk a vulnerable persons life is beyond comprehension to me.

It would beup there with some of the **** Victorisn employers got away with imho.

It needs to be addressed by the government as lockdown is eased.

I am not accusing you of being ****ty...

Might be wrong, but I reckon vulnerable people could be asked to isolate a lot longer than the initial 12 weeks.
Going to be some really ****ty choices to be made this year.
