    Happy Non Wedding day!!!

You can have two wedding anniversaries to celebrate in the future :)

Mrs No7 & I have been together for 23 years in a month's time, engaged for 14 years. Don't want to rush things.

    Two points there ...

I agree a bit but I also believe the UK public's common sense diminishes in direct relation to their education and treatment
The education system tries to teach calculus to people who could strip an engine down and rebuild it, as it were
I have plenty of mates who aren't 'intellectual' but are clever, and were lucky enough to be taught in a different system with a technical stream and then got apprenticeships and trades

In Dorset the older people are very well behaved and its more younger people I find myself having to dodge
    Where do you live?

My friends in America are telling me a US vicar has died after injecting disinfectant. Don't know if it's true but they are saying Donald Trump has been charged with bleach of the priest.

I totally agree with the highlighted part. Non academic kids don't have the same options as I did when I was young. The problem is the industries that provided skilled apprenticeships just aren't there anymore.
But I don't agree with the part about common sense or lack of it, that IMO can apply to any level of society and I think it is connected to a lack of respect and courtesy that appears to be more evident now.

The bit about the elderly is based on how they behave while shopping, I have no idea about what they are like the rest of the time. I know from someone who works at Sainsburys that when there are time slots for NHS, elderly and then the general public, the elderly customers are by far the worst. Not all of course but when compared to the other groups they don't seem to understand or just can't be bothered. Mostly it's about social distancing but a lot lack basic manners.
All the staff are understandably worried about exposure to the virus and you would think that the older folk would be the most cautious but in fact are the most cavalier.

We live between Eastleigh and Winchester near to Marwell zoo. Quite isolated where we are so we don't see many people, even before the lock down. We actually see more people when we walk the dog now compared to before as everyone wants to get out.

Is the BBC trying to make it more difficult to find out what the daily death rate is?
I used to go on the website and the figure would be staring at you from the News home page.
Now I have to hunt for it.
Same on the tv briefings. Usually there is a daily count, but today just the overall hospital total of deaths.
Is this a way of blurring the figures so that people can’t see the actual increase/decrease?

Don’t think so mate, they’ve made quite a big deal on BBC News of the death toll in hospitals passing the 20k mark today.

Maybe they decided visitors to their website didn’t necessarily want the bad news getting yelled at them?

The big front page article on the bbc website is that deaths have passed 20,000. click on it and the first line after that title is "The latest figures showed a total of 20,319 deaths in the UK, up by 813 on the previous day"

I guess they just decided that the overall count was bigger news for a headline.

Bold: I don't disagree, I just think society can encourage good or bad behaviour in various ways and this should start at school to break the cycle

Interesting that the elderly are doing fine around here, is it my imagination or is it more the comfortably off elderly who think they rule the world?

You live in an area that was a bit of a stamping ground for me in my youth. I went to school in Eastleigh so knew a lot of people in that area and went to some good parties there. Had a mate who worked at Marwell, every time he took something out of his coat pocket it was accompanied by a different kind of exotic animal ****

OMG if this is right. How many deaths is that moron going to cause?
I have already read, somewhere today, that the malaria drug he was promoting to fight the coronavirus, was used in Veterans hospital and resulted in 16% more deaths compared to those using other treatments, in the same hospital.

Maybe natures way of thinning the herd of people who aren’t smart enough to help the next generation. If only the orange haired one would take his own advice.
