    Apart from the fact that if you do need a ventilator and you are a smoker, it becomes an added complication.

    However, it is quite an interesting observation. I've found through my life as a smoker, I've been more prone to virus' when I went through spells of not smoking (I won't say giving up). Although I hasten to add, when you stop smoking, your lungs go through a period of recovery, which includes developing a dry cough.

    It's also always been known that Italians lead a longer life, despite the high number of smokers! So there might be some substance behind it, but even as a smoker, I would never advocate that you take it up.

    Smoking keeps your immune system on it’s toes as it is constantly ridding your body of foreign chemicals, so naturally when you stop your immune system will chill a bit.

    No age to go dude, they b in the firing line and the risk is huge compared to our situations..... takes guts going in to work each shift.

    Maybe they should be getting extra danger money like the military get whilst in combat zones
