I obviously don’t know all your circumstances, but I’ve read a few of your posts. Baffles me why your employers won’t just do the decent thing in your case. It just seems like rank bad management to treat a valued employee this way. Shame on them, and good luck to you. Don’t give up (clearly you won’t).

I have officially been on lockdown for 5 weeks today and have worked out I have only driven 18 miles in that time. I normally average 6-700 a month.

I won’t be giving up, especially as I know I am right.
The reason my employer is treating me like this is because they don’t value their staff, it really is that simple.

Where I work, one departmental team is constantly recruiting, because they cannot retain staff, owing to the type of work, allied to poor people management.

I have seen many, really good workers walk away, from my departmental team, and it is only after they hand in their resignation that they receive any praise, because the management then try to get them to stay.
There are staff who regularly turn up late, if at all, but because of weak management, they aren’t taken down the disciplinary route in order to improve their attendance, time keeping or dismissed.
We have reach truck drivers, targeted with slotting 16 pallets per hour who are so deliberately short staffed, that they are often having to achieve double that figure to get the job done.
We have solitary reach truck drivers working in the freezer, which may be a breach of health and safety.
Staff is generally as tight as the proverbial duck, which means company procedures are not followed to the letter, because to do so would mean the job not getting done.
The staff have it within their capability to bring the company to a halt, if they wanted to, just by adhering to company policies, but they won’t do it because they are not willing to rock the boat, which means that they will never get the additional support that they need, to do the job properly.
The company doesn’t recognise unions, which means that workers who join the union receive little or no real support, as they don’t have the numbers to shake the company up.

    Rant over for now.

My daily round-trip to work is 52 miles. That's 260 per week without doing any other mileage. My parents are a 60 mile round trip away and I usually see them most weeks...it soon adds up

Makes my miles seem very low , every year when I change my car, I usually only have 9,000 on the clock.

Shocking. And imo not good business practice either.

When Allen Leighton was CEO of Royal Mail (best CEO we had in my 21 years there), one of his mantras was, “our two most important assets are our customers and our people”.

This is a brilliant film about the history of the NHS and what has happened to it since. There are some truly wonderfully dedicated people featured in this film and a message to everyone in this country, because we will all need our National Treasure at some point.

    The Great NHS Heist

Tbf I’m probably against them in Dejan Lovren’s case too.

    Is that a bit harsh?
