Good Morning. It's Wednesday 22nd April, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road EFL to call time on Leagues One and Two The EFL are meeting with Chairmen of clubs from Leagues one and two later this week to discuss the best way to draw a line in the sand, ultimately ending the season. The further down the league you go, the worse their financial plight. Therefor, playing remaining games behind closed doors would put many in financial meltdown. Instead, the EFL will discuss ending the season with a 'points per game' proposal! According to the Times:- “A meeting of League Two clubs with the EFL leaders will take place tomorrow with a similar event planned for those in League One towards the end of the week, where discussions are expected to include drawing a line under the season to avoid the financial costs to the smaller clubs of playing behind closed doors. “One suggestion is that the tables for League One and Two be decided on points per game, with a play-off tournament for those in third to sixth position (or fourth to seventh in League Two) to settle the final promotion place.” The Championship, although financially a million miles away from the Premier League, is seen as enough of a cash cow by the likes of Sky that the remaining games must be played. please log in to view this image Costa, if given the option, would you still sign him? Leeds Utd will part with their first of four installment of just under 3.6m for Portuguese Winger Helder Costa shortly. The 26yo has been on a season long loan with the Whites, with a compulsory purchase agreement agreed with former club Wolves. It's fair to say Costa had a slow start to the season, though as the season went on, improvements were made. With nine games remaining, the pacy winger has been credited with three goals and two assists. If you had the choice whether to sign him permanently or not, what would you do? please log in to view this image Should Leeds break the bank to land White Needless to say, Ben White has had one hell of a season at Elland Road, but in doing so has caught the eye of many Premier League Clubs including Liverpool. The runaway leaders of the Premiership have sent chief scout (and ex Leeds player) Andy O'Brien to watch the 22yo on no few than 18 occasions. Whilst the lure of one of the best clubs in Europe being after your signature must be extremely flattering, it is clear that White is loving life in West Yorkshire, and has made a lot of friends Assuming Leeds go up, and Brighton decide to cash in on their asset, how much of a priority should Messrs Orta and Radrizzani make it to try and secure White's permanent signature? How much would you pay for White? If Leeds were able to secure the former Saint, would you have to replace Cooper to show intent of improving the team? please log in to view this image
Morning all. Suppose the white signing would depend totally on promotion. As that is like guessing the length of a piece of string, it makes signing White an extremely difficult proposition. Costa now looks a very expensive signing given how transfer fees will surely be realigned during and after this crisis nut we’ve no option
White is a definite for me. Costa would be a no, his final ball is awful in the main, he can't tackle and is found ball watching too often for my liking. Don't rate him I'm afraid, frustrates me
Good Morning to the amazing Matt and his teamfrom a sunny Bardsey Amazing because I don't know how you manage to bring fresh topics out each day I would not buy Costa but White would be a yes as would Messliers Augustine jury out and what fee remember prices will have dropped by as much as 50% We will still need to buy a decent CB when we get promotion which will be announced very soon if this lockdown persists
I'd buy Costa. He was improving loads as the season went on. I'd go as far to say he was turning in to one of our better players. I'd buy White, if promoted, going as far as 25 million for him. 8 million for Harrison looks a good deal. I've been a critic of his but only because he has so much potential and doesn't realise it often enough. He could be getting 15-20 goals a season. 5 million for Meslier is a no brainer! Just buy him. He will be an exceptional keeper for years to come. We might need a stop gap for a season or two if we went up. We obviously need a striker too.
