Missing it more than I thought I would, not just the pub but the actual match too. Can’t wait for it to start again even if it’s streamed only. Will be a sign that things are gradually returning to some sort of normality.
Not even slightly to be honest. I've found that over the last 10 years my interest in football has been increasingly nostalgic, historic stories or a romantic possibility of how it could be. The game in reality and the now has just become habit. Now that I've kicked that habit, I'm not sure I'll ever pick it back up in the same way again to be honest.
Not really no, putting channel 401 on was a habit for me but it's rare that I really give a **** about what happens in a game, excluding Sunderland of course. This crisis has highlighted how unimportant and overpaid footballers are and how pointless the Instagram generation of celebrities is. Hopefully we'll see some changes for the better as a society when we come out the other side.
If you've managed to kick the habit in a month. Why didn't you manage to kick the habit in the 3 months between May and august every year?
At least Coronavirus hit SAFC at the right time. It’s had a chronic case of Stewrona for a good couple of years now. I can’t get too enthusiastic as long as he’s in charge Loads of player contracts need renewing at the end of the season and I’m not looking forward to seeing how he deals with it.
Can't say I am missing it, I'm more disappointed the cricket season looks like being knackered. One of my life's little pleasures, working with the cricket commentary on the radio will be sadly lacking this summer.
I will have a go, but I've found it very relaxing in previous years to have TMS or the county cricket commentary running in the background while working. Not sure it will be the same with podcasts or old commentary
I love that too. Always have the cricket on when i can, I am missing my righteous indignation of the way Durham are ritualistically hung out to dry by the ECB, etc but even that isn't actually important.
The 12th man is just a spoof of a cricket commentary. If you haven't heard it you'll love it Just google 12th man Billy Birmingham
I was at Headingly last year when Stokesy and Jack got us over the line - I can promise you that was a lot more stressful than watching SAFC!! Insanely rewarding though!!
Hugely jealous of that. My bucket list was to travel with the Barmy Army and I did last Xmas when England was in South Africa. The day I was there was the only day South Africa took us apart. Four bloody tests and I pick the day we got thumped. Great experience tho
Not bothered at all about it, the only reason we're still talking about when it'll resume is because of the huge sums of money involved and the legals of it all. If it wasn't for that they'd have scrapped this season.
