BBC is reporting that Pardew is planning a summer move for Roman.

Whats people's thought on this? I know Mike's plan about signing younger, cheaper waged players, and with Pav being 29 and likely on a good wage at Spurs i think it's unlikely.

Saying that i think Pav has had a hard time at Spurs, playing a bit part role, and would be a good striker for us.

Im torn... I think he would be good, but at 29 i dont think it would be good business and cannot see it happening.

I like this player and don't think he has been given much of a chance at Spuds.

However as you've mentioned he's not getting any younger and doesn't fit into the criteria of player we want for that reason.

But if the player is willing to take a cut in wages (instead of looking for final pay day) and a reasonable knock down fee could be arranged I would like to see him in a black and white shirt. Could easily become a fans favourite

I agree with you about this guy. He doesn't fit the profile of the type of player Ashley has said that he wants, however sometimes it is good to have a slightly older player that our youngsters can learn from. I am surprised that he has not been given a decent run in the Spurs team as there is no doubting his quality.

I am also all for signing Pavlychenko. Think he would be a great signing as long as the price is rght and we get a younger striker to play along side him. I think Lovenkrands will be gone in the summer anyway and he has grumbled about going back to Denmark.

Living & working in Russia would be great for me as they show games here predominantly with teams with a Russian Connection, so sign him up lol

On a free, short term contract. Incomparable.

Lets face it. 29 isn't exactly old is it. He'll have at least another 3-4 years before his age starts to be a problem.
However, wages might be, but he might be willing to take a pay cut to get regular first team football.

a bit too inconsistent for my liking, better than what we have though. Like how he's always willing to take the shot on, but getting on a bit. Reckon if he's money driven he'll be back off to Russia for that 'final pay day'

Elmander on a free would be the deal i'd go for anyway.

I would much rather see us offer Elmander a contract as he could come on a free. The money saved on the transfer fee could even be used to give Elmander decent wages to make sure he picks us

I'm unsure on Elmander, Pav would be a yes though for 8 million maybe.
