    Like the asterisk next to the Ali/Foreman fight in '74

    * RSF. Referee Stopped Fight.

    In this case, to save the rest of the league from punishment. :emoticon-0165-muscl

    I remember a time when Sucky didn't care about what happened... apparently.

    Somewhere around page 2 or 3. Only lasted to page 4 mind, but still... crazy days <whistle>

    In fairness, Sven tried to buy the league a couple of years before with his trolley dash but it went wrong with the likes of Beckford and Matt Mills. Pearson came in, got rid of them lot and bought younger, cheaper players. Some like Nugent, Konchesky and Schmeichel were still there so I imagine wages were still high but transfer fees weren’t. We aren’t a good example of buying the league as we went up when we stopped! Wolves more recently successful bought their way ip

    The Premier League is filmed before a live internet streaming audience!

    “Making your way in the world today takes everything you’ve got.
    Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.
    Wouldn't you like to get away?
    Sometimes you want to go
    Where everybody knows your name”

    Massive screens at either end of the grounds showing the grids of a couple of hundred plassies on a Zoom meeting, all chanting from their armchairs.

    It’s an @astro wet dream.

    Imagine Jordan Henderson lifting the trophy in his kitchen on the internet after playing just 29 games and having the trophy ‘awarded’ to them out of sympathy.

    <laugh>

    I’d rather that than any other scenario.

    I remember Arsenal actually did that some years back when they were still at Highbury. There was a mural at the Clock End as they extended the ground. They played a chant of Tony Adams' name - and he turned and applauded the mural! :biggrin:
