Yeah; I also believe Ashley is a more than willing seller, we both never believed the conspiracies out there. Its taken time for a real investor to come in with cash in hand, that's what he wants, not some ****ing guarantee that money will be raised.
I cannot believe this is happening tbh..imagine when its confirmed and hearing the plans... this lot will mean business.. im amazed that anyone would think these guys will settle for top half and a cup run.. will they ****!! we might , but not these ****ers
Morning all (Leeds fan here). Really excited about the takeover as it would be brilliant to see Newcastle right up at the top of the PL. Other than us I can't think of a better club to wipe the sanctimonious smile off the footballing elite who have had it all their own way for far too long. Not going to get into the sportswashing etc...there's foreign investement all over the UK which is deemed acceptable so why should we as football fans be expected to take some moral high ground when governments don't. The days of local ownership of our clubs has sadly long since gone, we might prefer things to be different but the genie was let out of the bottle where English football is concerned long ago. Best of luck and stay safe
The sheer ****ing wealth here is just so astronomical. We are talking about a freaking 1% investment on their end to completely transform the ****ing club. It's insane honestly. How can people not expect success?
you'll be back up in the prem no time mate, Leeds is a proper English side been out of the top league for far, far too long.
cheers .. I was just saying a few months back that Leeds have cracking support and will be pleased to see them promoted. I would think Leeds will themselves be snapped up when the next group are looking for a club with massive potential.
I think some people would rather tell themselves what they want to believe like pj and tobes for example and some will actually think FFP and a european ban if caught will bother them.
QSI (Qatar) have been sniffing around for a year or 2 now... I guess your takeover would make it more likely.
I think he’s always been a willing seller but only at his over the top price which few businesses would be willing to pay. As CC says we have/may have struck gold with a Buyer whose only concern wasn’t just business but also changing the image of (in this case) a country AND had the spondoolies to pay the over the top price.
And as has already been said, hope you get promotion back to the Pl as it would be nice to have a derby game closer than West Brom.
ESPN had a financial advisor on this week that stated Ashley's £400M asking price was very fair. It's about what the club is worth, it's simply too much money for most jokers to pay. The real market value from analysts is exactly what Ashley was asking for, he's gone significantly lower.
Not seen that but have seen quite a few valuations suggesting a lot lower valuation of Clubs. This is why people make bad business decisions, because depending on which advisor you go too they'll both have completely difference estimates. So, Mike may have someone in his ear saying "nah, mate, worth more" while Amanda has someone saying "no chance, worth half of that." When in reality it's somewhere in the middle... somewhere in the middle is exactly where they settled. £300M.
TBH if/when it goes through I won’t care how much was paid so long as Ashley is gone and gone for good.
True, and it's not like he can complain. He's getting double what he paid for and the club has registered profits now for years, he's made his money back.
That’s the value of the club after taking into account the 150m debt on the b/s. So when you factor that in the club is worth 370m.
