Oh it is, John. They're on a mission from God, and only they know the true path of righteousness. The Blueshite Brothers, as it were.

Does it say that they voted this way because they want to deny Liverpool the title or have they just voted this way and you've decided to make it all about Liverpool?

Genuine question as I haven't seen the vote in question.

ps. Am I correct in assuming it's 82 percent of City fans who chose to vote in an online survey on a website as that really has no bearing on what City fans overall think. I know tons of Liverpool fans and their views aren't all the same as yours.

Funny that they’re the same ones moaning that VAR ruins being able to enjoy individual games but ignore the impact on of a season being scrapped on the ability of those who have been on the verge of achieving something to take another season seriously without finishing this one.
Some of them try and hide behind being the ‘moral compass’ and can’t even admit that they’re just as biased by what benefits their own side. What possible reason is there for Everton to want to complete both from their own season and Liverpool? Man Utd fans however seem to be quite level about it all given that they could have a successful season yet

Only they haven’t (that I’ve seen) I can speak for myself though and I most definitely haven’t. My stance has been the same throughout, the season should be finished if it practically can be. However, the idea that there can’t be a new season until this one completes, irrespective of when that might be, I’m dead against.

Leicester and Liverpool are the sides who’d miss out the most if the league was voided. So your position is based on that fact.

As for us, we had a decent run in, and had been one of the form sides in the league since Carlo’s arrival, so we had a decent chance of a EL place with City’s banning.

A few are not, as you can see in this thread, but all the Man U fans I know in the real world are, and, as I said further up, are joshing with me and other 'Pool fans that they'd gladly sacrifice the whole season to watch Liverpool be denied a first title in 30 years. At least they're honest about it. :emoticon-0125-mmm:

If you had made that longer it could have rivaled that Pepsi ad from the 70s.

Other sides too. Sheffield United hugely miss out and then there's the question of what happens instead, if they end up promoting two sides and not relegating any then I'd argue my team (Newcastle miss out). Currently we're safe and almost certainly not getting relegated and yet if they do have a larger league next season it increases our chances of getting relegated (3 out of 20 is a smaller fraction than 5 out of 22). Depending on what decisions are made it could negatively effect a bunch of clubs it's just that some (Liverpool and LEicester) and the ones it would negatively effect the most.

What baffles me is that people are still talking about what is "fair" or latching onto the word "integrity". There is no fair solution here and the only concern of the league (and most of the teams in it) has ALWAYS been money, the naivety of some posters is as funny as it is convenient.

Look we all have our views and I’m not going to go like Astro as I can and do see the bigger picture :emoticon-0148-yes:
I do think yourself and others would be more in favour of seeing the season out of you were in our position though, it’s only natural, we want to see our teams efforts rewarded. There’s a lot more teams who will lose more than us though like Leeds and promotions down the leagues that may not be as financially rewarding but mean more.
I was just saying that personally, I can’t get exciting about another season once a precident for not completing one is a think as it could just happen again. Let’s be honest, none of us knew anything about this virus until around new year. But that’s my view, it probably just means it’s time to step back from football and just cast an eye over whats happening. If this time is telling us anything it’s that we can live without it

I’ve had a laugh with a few match going United fans about the idea of the season ending and run away leaders Liverpool missing out on the Holy Grail. As the idea of that happening would be ****ing hilarious if you’re a Blue or a United fan.

However, as funny as it might be, they still don’t put that bit of hilarity ahead of their own desire to get a CL spot and having a decent shout in 2 cup comps. Some might, but I doubt it’s the majority, certainly of match goers. You have now said that if the situations were reversed you’d take voiding for the craic though, so.....

Thank you for that clarity. <applause>

Diego's Third Law of Fairness in this topic seems to have some in-built dynamic of inverse proportionality in it multiplies the further you drop down the league: you can't be unfair to Norwich and Bournemouth, fairness doesn't matter in the middle of the table because they're all celestial cherubs with everyone but their own best interests at heart, but you can be unfair to Leicester and Liverpool because.... well, you have to be unfair to somebody. It's like reading Pravda after the Salisbury poisonings. :emoticon-0119-puke:

    Pffft. 30 years is nothing.

Hey Newcastle were about to end their 51 year trophyless streak with our FA Cup being all but "in the bag" but you don't hear us bleating on about it!

PS. It does actually slightly grate that all the news is about the "92 games" left to play in the league and fitting them in. I get that they are, realistically, more important but the idea that we will cancel some of the season and not others feels like the worst solution to me.

It’d be the most Newcastle thing ever, if you got taken over, then the season was played out, with some of your side thinking ‘**** it, I’m likely to get lobbed here shortly’ and you managed to snatch relegation from the jaws of safety. <laugh>

We had no chance in the FA cup.. had the easiest run ever and all the big teams left in it.. I dont even care about winning things tbh just want to go and feel like the owner is trying and at least communicating
