Learning from the master! That post displays a degree of hypocrisy, or at least total lack of self awareness, that I have long suspected of you Ellers, but rarely imagined to have so blindingly confirmed. Cheers!

I regard Apple News and Newsweek as mainstream media, so for me it’s a valid criticism of another government failure, on top of PPE and testing, which is now getting farcical. If contradictory evidence emerges, great. If, for political reasons, you refuse to engage with this, fine, just leave the rest of us who aren’t so blinkered to it.

To be honest Bob, as the weeks have gone by, I've formed the opinion that most of the people in the government are trying their best in an unbelievably difficult situation.
However, a combination of incompetence, red tape and muddled thinking has resulted in this government getting more and more wrong.

As for Labour... they and their supporters couldn't see the leader was unelectable. They couldn't make a decision back then on Brexit or policy... how the 2222 would they have dealt with this? Fortunately, they won't be in power for many many years.
As I keep saying all the countries have had problems and we are no different.

You said we’re lucky as they’d have handled this far worse. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask you to expand on that.

Cheers col. I am genuinely interested in others thoughts. As you've guessed, I believe it's a ****show, not because of it being a Tory government but just because its THE government.

What has labour or the election got to do with this? Why does it always come back to that with you? We are talking about the government mate. I think you've got confused!

Likewise. I don’t believe there is anything intentionally malign going on, just a pervasive level of incompetence and rabbit in the headlights fear. The expert advisors aren’t covering themselves in glory the longer this goes on either. For what it’s worth I don’t think it would be any better under any other government. In a way it’s easier for the Tories to throw money at things (apparently some of it is beginning to get through to some people) than it would be for Labour.

I would bloody well hope some of it's getting through aswell. Unfortunately I'm in the category of 'dont have a choice'. I'm back on Monday due to not being able to wait a further 6 weeks!!

There has also been a fair bit of bullshit along the way too. I would have a lot more sympathy and a little admiration if they would just admit some of their failings

My lad went back for the last few days, building a block of flats in Stratford on Avon. Most of the crew actually live in the same house, so shouldn’t be too risky. They’ve not been working because they’ve struggled to get supplies. Plus I suspect they have had a giant stockpile of booze to work through.

Dr Alison Prittard who heads up who heads up the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine says the ventilators aren’t fit for purpose....

Ellers who posts on ‘Not606’ says it doesn’t make sense......

Make of it what you will.

On a purely anecdotal note........just come back from doing my local food bank deliveries. First time being able to do it after 2 weeks.
    2 weeks ago I was delivering to 2 households (4 meals)......today I delivered to 10 households (52 meals)

    This country is ****ed.
