So 2 people is a large crowd. Okay.

Why can't you define what you think is a large crowd that won't be allowed for 18 months? Might be interested in a bet.

No point in betting on something I don't have any stake in.

Still places open on the avatar bet for the season being extended vs voided though.

Amen bruv ... I know I bang on about it <whistle> but I really can't put into words what it felt like to watch my home town club (born and bred) lift the Premier League title having watched them be nothing better than moderate for the best part of 40 years ... from watching my first live game as a 10 year old kid ...

You can at least imagine how we felt being a supporter of a club like Saints ... fair to say my footballing world is complete ... it can't really get any better ... like winning the lottery or coming home to find the pussycat dolls naked on your sofa and confessing that you've caught them "in the mood" ... the plastics, no real connection types, can never get anywhere close because they never bought the ticket for the ride in the first place ... they simply subscribed to the fanzine remotely <cheers>

The pandemic is a fact. So what are you proposing? Have crowds anyway and risk people's safety, or not bother with football at all for a year or so?

A lot of you on here seem to be saying:

"If football isn't the way I want it to be it's not real football and I'm not going to bother any more"

Then calling yourselves "real" fans while those willing to deal with the situation are "plastics"

IMHO . The season will be finished and it’s all because of the £££.

Only that’s not what anyone has said.

What’s happened here is that you’ve tried to maintain that behind closed doors football, available on streams is somehow a realistic alternative for the league pyramid.

What has been pointed out to you, is that in the lower leagues this simply won’t provide the revenue required to maintain the clubs and at the higher level that the ‘product’ is nothing like the same and won’t hold the interest of the paying public.

When was this then? You see, as was happening then is happening again now: people, like yourself, who get themselves all excited over something bad happening to Liverpool, put their desires and expectations above fact and reason. Maybe it's the climate of grasping at 'banter as a form of distraction' from the reality of what is happening. I truly remember some serious posters on here (or BBC 606, as was) in 2010 suggesting that if Liverpool went into ADMINISTRATION (there is a difference, look it up), then the club would go out of existence: a bit like saying that if you can't pay your mortgage then the building society will demolish the house you live in.

You have a tenuous grasp on facts and reality at the best of times (especially geography), and that is something some of those sharing your cause atm are usually well aware of. In the heady excitement of being in a majority for once, don't confuse being in the biggest gang as being right - you're as wrong as you usually are, only this time you have a lot of company. :emoticon-0143-smirk

Absolutely don't agree with the 'small clubs' arrogance (I take it you're on a counter wind-up mission?), but this is nearer to reality than most of what has been spoken on here so far. Until we get a reliable vaccine, are 40k+ stadiums a thing of the near past and distant future? I have heard some medical people (usually RIGHTLY castigating the decisions to allow Cheltenham and Liverpool/Athletico to go ahead) talking of a year to eighteen months until crowds like Glastonbuty, Premier League and political rallies could happen again, even if we have a vaccine up-and-running by the Autumn (unlikely, apparently). I suppose Farage could still organise some of his marches if he wanted to though.

Look I think Astro is as much of a twat, plastic and cares about nothing but Liverpool as the rest of you (having been reading the thread for a while). As far as lower leagues are concerned, you’re right that they rely on the going fans and match day revenue but if it’s physically not possible to get fans going for safety, is it really better to have it stopped completely rather than a temporary streaming service? There’s nothing like being there live but at this point of being stuck at home for weeks and tv having nothing be re-runs, I just want football back. I watch for the game itself not for the fans singing at each other at the end of the day...the question is whether the players can get themselves appropriately motivated to provide the same level of performance as they would in normal circumstances. It’s not likely we can start next season mid august as normal with fans in grounds so in my view, behind closed doors will be necessary for a hopefully, short time

Is it too Socialist to suggest that the Prem has to subsidise the lower leagues for the next two years?

Much the same, though I can't go as far as calling Astro a twat. I did, after all, name my Labrador* after him.

In the long term it would be in everyone’s interest if the PL shared it’s enormous wealth with not only the lower leagues, but also the grass roots of the game.

Allowing the PL to become it’s own entity was a mistake in the first place; now clubs, players and agents think they exist in a bubble with no obligations to the sport as a whole; but they don’t. Greed will kill everything, eventually, at which point the greedy themselves will be left with nothing to feed on.
