My current favourite salad, a bed of lettuce say romaine, with bell peppers include the juice/water from the jar, tomato and sugar snap peas, topped with feta, then fry some chorizo and pour on top oil and all. Starter or main.
My favourite salad contains: Peppery rocket & spinach Sliced radish, spring onion, yellow pepper, cucumber Halved vine ripened cherry tomatoes Tesco's chilli & citrus dressing which is great with fish dishes such as salmon cooked with sliced lemon. Salads are great as you can add or subtract ingredients to suit whatever you have with them. I also love salad cream with simple traditional style salads...
Tonight it's a creamy Chicken Korma with yoghurt and coconut, Basmati rice and Peshwari Naan. Followed by mixed fruit and ice cream...
We're trying to use up whatever we have in the fridge/freezer and cupboards to avoid unnecessary shopping trips. Tonight it was Pizza, Potato Wedges and a side salad.
Have you tried the app supercook Put in the ingredients you find in the back of the cupboard or the bottom of the freezer and it gives you some recipes We can finally empty the cupboards of all the wierd and wonderful stuff we promised to use one day
I'll take a look Kiwi, I'm always open to new ideas, even though I reckon I can conjure up something tasty with even the most basic ingredients.
Yes, I was the mess manager for about twenty-seven years Kiwi. That was for whatever watch I was serving on, not the whole station.
Tasty. A mix of stuff thrown into a big bowl and into the oven - rigatoni, mushrooms, tomatoes, fresh basil, bit of olive oil will add pine nuts and pesto for the final five minutes. And then add parmigiano. Let the feasting commence!
On a rainy evening tonight its turkey meatballs in a rich tomato sauce with red onion, herbs and wholewheat spaghetti. Followed by golden syrup sponge pudding and custard...
Friday night is curry night. Chicken curry, garlic naan and haggis pakora on the side. Washed down with a couple of bottles of Hobgoblin Gold
Uber Minor made a really good chilli con carnage (so named because of the impact the following morning).
