    There's been a few posts on here that charity shouldn't be subsidising the NHS and that the govt should fund it properly.

    That may well be right but just to put some context on it the annual budget for the NHS is about £135 billion. Tom Moore's recent contribution, £13 million, is a drop in the ocean, around 0.01%, I think...

    A bit like somebody on £30k pa getting a £3 pa pay rise.

    I had to go to Halifax bank in 'No Point' Centre today. Brilliant queuing system, using the empty shop next door. It was like queuing to see a Man Eating fish at Hull Fair. Staff smiling and doing a good job. Well done HB.

    Odd isn't it, last week there was a woman in the supermarket queue that kept coming close to everyone, telling them all she was 79 for some reason. Everyone kept telling her to back off, but she carried on regardless and there was another queuing outside our local shop, well into her 80's, doing the same.

    We live in a cul-de-sac and the old couple across the road have a constamt stream of visitors and go shopping regularly. He looks like he's ready to drop off anytime anyway. I just don't get it.

    Now **** off about the pensioners!!!!
    I go out when I need to and that's to the pharmacy for my monthly meds, my food and my excercise. I always have a scarf wrapped round my face and keep the right distance from people, so **** right off before you blame us pensioners :emoticon-0121-angry:emoticon-0121-angry:emoticon-0121-angry

    Very rich ****s. The FTSE was about 7500 when it all kicked of now it's near 5500. Meanwhile Amazon is up 30% this year.

    You might do when you get to their age. If he is dying then perhaps he'd rather die surrounded by his family and going shopping than sitting at home with his wife on their own.

    I'm sure the 'drop in the ocean' comment wasn't meant to undermine Captain Tom's outstanding effort, Plum, and that £15m (and rising) is nought point whatever of something, and is not very much in the grand scheme of things.
    But **** me, a 99 y.o. with a zimmer, £15m. It surely puts a lot of others to shame.

    Why are there still people around who don't understand what happens when you get old?

    What is it that some younger people don't get?

    I spent a lot of time with my Dad in hospitals and in his excellent care home. There is only so much they can do for people with Dementia, Parkinsons, Cancer etc.

    It's ****ing hard work just to visit your parents in these places. What do you think it's like to do it as a vocation? Because that's what it is, it's a vocation.

    When you're seven years old and you're aunty Nora asks what would you like to do when you grow up young Kempton, you don't say I want to empty your colostomy bag for you auntie.

    The staff in the NHS and in care homes are ****ing outstanding people.

    Take care of them please.
