There's always some somewhere and sometimes the bad news seems to overwhelm but keep the faith and we will get through this, and maybe become more content with what we have rather than what we think we need

...and some sporting news (remember what sport is?).

The Tour De France will take place at the end of August.

Something to look forward to at last.:1980_boogie_down:

Was particularly gutted not to have the US Masters last weekend. Augusta always stunning and the first major sporting event of the calendar year as far as I'm concerned.

I’ve a three day pass to the British Grand Prix, infield passes and front row seat at Club Corner. I’ve resigned to the fact it will be called off later this month. Will be gutted.

Just had Mrs Never call me, we are starting to hit the peak. All intensive care beds are full inc temporary ICU, so that’s around 80 fully ventilated patients.

Where they had rooms full of PPE, this is now dwindling at a rate of knots with the amount of patients as the need to change them at regular intervals. The hospital now want to wash the gowns so they can get used twice instead of disposing them after a shift. They are in up roar there, wife told them to **** off, it’s not safe to use them twice.

You will have to let me know his name and I’ll ask the wife if she knows him.

Edit that, there’s about 250 confirmed cases in Southampton. Oh and they were down to the last two gowns today, until a delivery arrived this afternoon.

Our NHS had been massively underfunded,as we all know, for years and years and.......

Now in this time of crisis the government can throw £billions to businesses.

If they did not have the monies for the NHS where has the monies come from to give to businesses now?

Weird times for sure, we were warned of a pandemic by scientists over the years, even Bill Gates some years back called on world governments to have plans in place, but it all fell on deaf years, and so we have this mess, I notice that Gates has spoken recently on the subject, on what is needed going forward, do you think these incredulous governments will listen this time?

This virus could be the beginning of a trend in super bugs, there needs to be the proper facilities put in place for counter measures, otherwise we could see food supplies being hit world wide, which would have disastrous consequences for nations. We have the technologies and expertise, but we need the coordinated and organised structures put in place to focus a much better response next time, because what we have witnessed in 2020 is nothing short of embarrassing and tragic..................<ok>

We as do other countries need to become more self sufficient in food and manufacturing production and not as reliant on others , I'd like to think that Boris has had such a shock and a life changing experience that he'll be the first to change Tory dogma regarding the health service ( although the last labour government are not innocent in all of this either )

We need to develop a British manufacturing strategy - we cannot be dependent on foreign, ‘long-distance’ supply chains.

For too long (and partly aided and abetted by EU policies/subsidies) we have allowed our manufacturing plants to be run down and production offshored to (supposedly) cheaper locations.

When I was in Junior School I can remember sending away for (and receiving) ‘I’m backing Britain’ stickers:
