It's a studio leak, IIRC. Cathy Dennis was one of the writers. She's quite prolific: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs_written_by_Cathy_Dennis
I am bored and have decided that you lot should suffer - I wonder what the worst song posted here has been I wonder if this wins now?
A song based upon the name of his great mate in The Boys from Battery D band...Harry Edg-Ying -Tong (Edgington). I'm definitely re-reading the war memoirs this summer. Who remembers why 'Plunger' Bailey was so named and what Sebag-Montefiore did in the billet?
Well mate - I would like ro thank you for your contributions here tonight and for infesting this splendid thread with a certain amount of ****! I do like the comedy songs and I do recall the drama teacher being on TOTP, I can't recall his name though I recognise him in the clip the bloke in the glasses in the 'backing vocalists' actually he shouts out drama teacher!
Now, there's a bit more... ...Mrs B and I drove down the length of the west coast of the US about 30 years ago - from Vancouver to Mexico. We got a car with a tape player and had no tapes. We picked some up in $1 bargain bins at gas stations, as we went...including this beauty, which I had always loved and Mrs B loves now. There are some sensational songs and performances on this album and it is very much at the heart of 'our soundtrack'.
Great album, what a talent that man is he has played so many styles almost unique in his ability to perform across genre without ever seeming out of place even when playing with his gorgeous wife. I saw him live in the early 80s (and TCM will approve he was there too) at Canterbury Uni was a fabulous show one of my favourite gigs but for some reason I have never seen him live again.
A unique and diverse talent. Mrs B and I saw him about 2 years ago and he was good as ever. He was due to be doing something about now but it'll be delayed for a while, given current restrictions.
