Politics and this situation go hand in hand....... should we forgive and forget.... Like a fk should we
So this was caused by the Tories?
Thanks for clearing that up.
Then again, was it Trump maybe?

Trump deffo didn't cause it as he didn't even think it was real until a few weeks ago. He may claim to have invented the vaccine at some point in the future. So this was caused by the Tories?

Just make up what you want dude...... The cuts have been under tory watch and we are in a mess now **** has hit fan....... Didn't labour get the blame for the world financial collapse.......even though it was a world event.
That's not the whole point, comment on how the government has approached the whole situation is one thing, relentlessly blaming them for everything is another.
It's pretty easy to have the definition without this just being a politics thread extension.
Which it is now anyway, it's obvious.
Two possibles maybe;
- have another politics thread, those that give a **** can just say it is all down to the tories and bore away to their hearts content.
- Don't close/merge the non political discussions.
Either would do.
Lots have questioned government approach and its been fking shocking
TBF who has said the Tories are at fault for the virus? That's not the whole point, comment on how the government has approached the whole situation is one thing, relentlessly blaming them for everything is another.

Some of it has been, yes.

There have been comments about how the government have handled the situation and that they're trying to massage the death toll. Surely those are pretty reasonable observations?
Difficult to comment on the inactivity of the opposition parties given they're not really involved in managing the situation.
As I said earlier, it's not about politics, it's about the truth being told and the government taking responsibility.

Interesting point that: Darling and Brown spent half a trillion pounds bailing out the banks in 2009. When the Tories took over a year later and were told the coffers were bare they used that as an excuse for ten years of austerity. They didn't say what they would have done differently. Likewise, I accept that any government in charge now has to spend what they have to spend, and preserve as much as the economy as they can.
There will be a humungous national debt and deficit when this is over. If this, or any other government tries austerity, isolation, trade barriers and authoritarianism to dig themselves out of this hole, then we're on for twice the chaos of the Great Depression. If that becomes the case, you can be sure the Telegraph and the Mail will somehow blame Labour for it again. And probably Meghan Markle.

Thanks for your valued feedback.
The other thread that was merged into this one was about companies ****ing people off during the crisis, so I’ve no idea what your actual point is.

Absolutely ... and comparison of our preparation for a pandemic and also our reaction to it with that of Germany - now that seems pretty reasonable to me.
If nowt else, we need to learn from this.
