We're on an identical trajectory to Italy and France. I fear for USA who seem to have taken off exponentially judging from one chart I saw yesterday.

Well done Germany and South Korea for their approach which has translated into less deaths.

A black mark for Sweden who haven't put their population into lock-down at all. They may regret that before long.

And if Covid takes a grip in India or Africa it could be disastrous...

One "positive " if there can be any out of this is the amount of calls from "Nigel" wanting to fix my laptop has dropped off dramatically

Watching the daily briefing from Downing Street, and I’ve come to the conclusion that these journalists are thick as ****. The ITV fella asked a question and the answer was all ready given in one of the slides they showed. What a bell end.

What the daily briefings are showing is the Tories are failing miserably on every promise and target they've set.

They knew this was coming and going to be very serious at the beginning of January and decided to go for the utterly ridiculous herd immunity scenario, thus wasting two weeks with this approach instead of implementing a lockdown and saving a lot more lives.

The first case did not - allegedly - reach the U.K. until the end of January (the 31st).

That ‘assumption’ largely underpins the statistical modelling applied by Imperial College.

The Oxford Uni model assumes that it was here earlier.

if we don't become immune then this will repeat itself , the lockdown should have come earlier and with stiffer penalties but the trouble is in this country we don't respect the rules as we've seen and the government would have recognised this from the outset . this hence the weak pleadings from the police which have been ignored by too many for too long . You don't mess with the Spanish French or Italian police ,

It would be battons drawn and a good ol kick in. Look what the lovely French police did to the yellow vests, kicked the **** out of them.

A friend of mine is in the navy. He and his base were deliberately deployed mid January because of Covid-19. They called those who weren't deployed to their base and have been in full lockdown since the same period.

As for it being here much earlier I agree. I went to a football tournament in south west England with my school team in the first week back after Christmas. I had the flu for the best part of three weeks, sore throat, coughing etc for about 3 weeks.

3 of my squad of 10 were absent from school for the best of 2 weeks. Scared the ****e out of me when I heard and read about the Oxford Uni model.

Fully agree. The government gave room for people to take the piss with outdoor exercise etc.

What they should do is drag every dickhead deliberately ignoring the social distancing protocols into a hospital ward treating Covid-19.

Unfortunately it seems that the law is an ass. If there are groups of people or gangs of blokes on bikes don’t ask them what they are doing nicely just take their bikes off them until they pay their fines.

My wife was admitted to hospital on 26th Jan - kept in for 4 days.

She had all the Covid-19 symptoms.
