So scrapping the FA cup and international games this season, then cramming the remaining games into 6 weeks are not changes then?[/QUOTE] you can play the cup games if you want, but the fa cup is still at early rounds. the fa cup of one season has no relevance at all to the next or previous seasons. i'm talking about the integrity of the league and of titles, of promotion, and of relegation. the euros have already been postponed by a year. i'm talking about the integrity of the LEAGUE. the other stuff doesn't matter going forward. are you new to following football?
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/52248866 18:31 St Mirren reflect on 'unprecedented times' Scottish Premiership outfit St Mirren described the current situation as "unprecedented". "St Mirren, in common with all other football people, would have always preferred to play the season to its proper conclusion. "However, for the protection of both fans and players, football should take a break until after the summer and hopefully be able to start season 2020-21 as soon as possible, safely. "As both the UK and Scottish Governments make clear daily, everybody must stay at home as much as possible, to protect the NHS and save lives. Putting increased pressure on clubs to end this season, and potentially start next season early, is not what society needs right now."
Suppose we should look at this as an altruistic gesture given they are forfeiting the chance of winning the league title and/or a place in Europe next season . I won't make the other obvious comment !
I wonder how the players and officials feel about that. Going back to work is one thing, you can still try and avoid too much contact, but football?
English football has been suspended since March, affecting the EFL and Premier League seasons, but according to a report a working date for a return has been set. Relegation spots, promotion places and a number of title fights lay unresolved with games remaining across a number of English leagues, but ESPN sources state that one footballing organisation in England has labelled June 6th as a return date for competitive league action. The EFL - Championship, League One and League Two - are working towards the date after resuming a pre-season of sorts in mid-May, which would depend totally on the spread of the coronavirus and any Government plans to extend or curb the current public lockdown. Any return to action will see games played behind closed doors, without supporters. As for the top-tier, Premier League clubs are due to meet on Friday in a video conference to outline a working schedule for a crucial return to action, with a number of clubs aiming to find a resolution to the season - with the EFL's plan being one option. https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/spo...emier-league-championship-return-hull-4042983
Crucial return!!!! My ****ing arse So football players are special then and immune to it??? How do they travel to the game as an away team? How do they get changed How does the physio and masseuse do their job? It’s total ****ing bollocks and unnecessary and all about money **** them all
Money was always going to ensure the season finished at some point. The only consolation behind the madness if they do try and start again in May is that fans of certain teams won't be able to celebrate promotion, nor potentially see their team kick off the next season in a higher league.
You could always stand near the players entrance, so they couldn't get in without being in breach of the social distancing rules. You'd have to be a bit inventive with your essential journey story though. If nothing else, it'd flag up the hypocrisy if they argued they were somehow under different rules to you...and I'd laugh at home when I looked at the pictures in HDM
Or could any of us not wander to the kcom if it’s the last game and city need to win or draw to avoid relegation??
Out of contract players, players out on loan. "We only got relegated because we couldn't play all our best players" A legal nightmare.
