I think China's figures on the Worldometer are pure fantasy but no one will ever know how long or how many have had it or died from it. As for the media, whom I get the feeling are almost willing us to have the worst death rate, this graph perhaps throws things into a more sensible perspective based on deaths per million of population, as it's always likely the biggest populations will produce the highest total numbers, Whichever way you look at it Germany still come out pretty well at present...

Good for Dulwich College and Caversham Golf Club, who (at the request of local authorities) are opening up their enormous green spaces for public use. I think the relative lack of available green space in cities makes the TV images of people in parks more striking, opening up all the space available will help social distancing. A golf course is typically 150 acres of park land. But keep off the ****ing green!
If you agree with it I will revisit to see what I’ve got wrong :emoticon-0103-cool:

Here in Oz, we have started to reopen golf courses to play again.

l personally applaud this decision which gets people out in the fresh air, yet maintaining distancing.

Let’s face it, where l shank the golf ball, is still virgin territory, uninhabited by mankind.

The Chinese in my opinion seem to be hiding something, what, I dont know and we may never find out. It's not that nobody cares about it, its lack of knowledge about what truly goes on or has gone on there. There are some that are Tory bashing, that's irrelevant to myself, I'm really dissapointed in the government of the day which just happens to be conservative. It could be any party and if they had acted or not acted as the case seems to be, then I would blast them just as much. I just wish they had the decency to act more humble in their approach. There have been major issues throughout this pandemic, sometimes you just have to throw your hands up and say ' yes we got that wrong or sorry we were too slow to act on that'. People need to get over this party divide and rightly question what's going on despite their allegiances.

Both can be at fault in different ways. Ireland has less than half the deaths allowing for population size as we do. I can’t blame China for that disparity.

There’s no doubt China started it and exacerbated the situation trying to cover it up. We’re simply playing a better hand than some of Europe had very badly.

Sounds like the business could sink if he can’t tap into those loans.

She’s quite good isn’t she? I like the way, when the bloke said ‘this is tens of trillions of $’ she takes it straight to back to lives, jobs and mental health, which is unusual for an economist.

However, my built in anti Chinese regime bias makes me a less than reliable commentator on this stuff.

I think this is a real worry. I believe there must still be some criteria whereby they are only giving loans to sound businesses. Now although I appreciate there are a lot of companies that may have been on their way out anyway, there will be
plenty of previously sound businesses amongst those needing help.

I’m really beginning to wonder how accurate the figures are of deaths FROM Covid are.
Am I right in saying deaths at home or in care homes aren’t counted ?
And even if they are, how many of these are actually COVID related and how many are from other things.

As an example, I spoke to my friend who’s mum died recently in a care home and her death was put on the certificate as COVID......but NO TEST WAS DONE , however some residents in the home had been tested as positive so I’m led to believe.
Therefore how can this be proven ? From the symptoms explained to me, it could more likely of been Sepsis, which kills far more elders.

Just makes me curious and a bit sceptical of the figures being muted.

Realistically if there’s a fudge it’s going to be understated rather than over. We won’t really know until the ONS publishes its numbers.

I don’t know why some countries include care home and other non-hospital deaths and others don’t.
