Morning boys and girls. Big day in the Smug household. We only have one neighbour within a mile radius, and we've kept our distance as we've been advised. We arrived in February so have barely seen them with all the restrictions. But, as we like Easter, we've invited them round this evening to try to maintain some sort of normality. We've set up two seperate tables on the terrace, one for them and one for us, and they're bringing their own glasses, etc. It may not be ideal but we can have a glass of wine, a simple meal and music ... ... sometimes it's the little things that mean the most.
As we have for the last two saturdays, we'll be going to Alan's House (Alum Ale House in 'Sheels) at 6 o'clock tonight with 4 of our drinking friends (2 couples) via Skype (so really it's Alan's Skype House). We'll be drinking as if we were really there whilst sitting on our own settees, and having more than we should We did something similar with our eldest daughter and her hubby last night . . . . 'making the best of a bad job' I think it's called
