    Sorry lads, this is not a promise of indecent shots of Cabaye and his manhood...I'm following on from an article made by Holystone and something said by Pardew:

    He's of course talking about yesterday's strike partnership and this for me is key at the minute...Had Ba cost us £8m from West Ham and Best been a French striker we'd bought in the January market, our fans would've been going mental, singing from the rafters, as it is, they cost a few million between them (including signing on fees) and honestly I couldn't be happier!

    Best has looked dangerous in every single game this season (I challenge you to name one where he hasn't) and should've scored yesterday...Ba was clinical and the difference between 1 and 3 points for me!

    There's a long time to go and we're yet to play/challenge the big boys, but **** lads, with Ben Arfa back and these 2 on form, the worry about where goals will come from this season looks...well...pathetic!

    (finally, and tagged onto the end - What a genuinely class time this is to be a Newcastle fan...I can't stop grinning!)

    HTL!

    Rooney and Hernandez = big names (15 letters)
    Ba and Best = small names (6 letters)

    Agreed.

    It's great that we've managed to get in genuinely good players for so cheap! We've managed to do this well without HBA and (to an extent) Marveaux. I can't wait for our best XI to play!

    This really is a great time to be supporting this club! (although it's almost inevitable something bad'll happen soon! - let's enjoy this while it lasts)

    Best was great yesterday apart from his finishing, he's still lacking a little sharpness but will only get better. Ba is really coming into his own and has played well in the last couple of games. He's surprisingly quick and nimble for a big lad and quite skillful too. He's starting to play like a complete striker and we're seeing a side to him that he never expressed while at West Ham. He really mucks in, plays out wide and even tracks back, a lot like Carroll used to for us.

    Cabaye had a quiet game yesterday but when he was involved he was effective, all round a good effort against a physical and tough side. Obertan was a treat too, much like Best he just needs to work on his touch which will come with more games under his belt. Can't wait for HBA to get to full fitness again but in the meantime I have faith in Best, Ba and Obertan <ok>

    Peter Rosenkrands Lovenkrands (27 letters) = tripe
    Fabricio Coloccini (17 letters, but still long) = awesome

    In the same way:

    Alan Smith (9 letters) = tripe
    Demba Ba (7 letters) = awesome

    Length of name is irrelevant, methinks.

    Ji = ****e
    Ba = Class

    I'm starting to think the size of a players name might have nowt to do with how well he plays... <whistle>

    If we are applying this logic then surely there is no bigger striker in the world than Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink?

    Beat me to it!

    Looking back on this board on transfer deadline day the number of people moaning about us not getting Bryan 'horrible penalty' Ruiz was ridiculous. I'd still like some more strength in depth, and a first choice right back, but other than that this is the best squad we've had since Sir Bobs.
