The latest in my battle to be furloughed is that in the last 2 days, I have made 4 calls to my employer’s head office, in an attempt to speak to a senior member of the HR team and find out why they are ignoring the updated furlough rules. 4 times the person I needed to speak to was unavailable, but I was told I would be called back. Nope, no phone calls. I have sent off an email to USDAW. They are quite useless, TBH, as the company doesn’t recognise unions and USDAW has very few members working for the company, but they do have a free legal advice team, which I am hoping can give some answers on a variety of questions I have asked. I have also composed a draft email to the editor of the Echo, suggesting that they write a column bringing the rule changes more into the open, investigate companies to see if they are aware of furlough rule changes and if they will allow staff with similar care issues to mine, to be furloughed. Just a draft at the moment as I am giving my employer as much time as possible to come back to me, what with it being Easter and me being decent, for a discussion, before sending the email. What they really don’t want to do is upset me enough to start sharing information that I possess with the Environmental Health or the HSE or the Echo, come to that, as it would prove embarrassing and potentially knock customer confidence in the way that some food products are handled.
I don’t like that the information is that we are getting the virus under control. We aren’t yet testing nearly enough people to be able to determine that.
Agee completely!!!! How many of these clubs are saying they are furloughing their non-playing staff and then come the next transfer window will be signing players for many millions of pounds. Shame on those clubs that do
Well I’m still Stuck in Aussie and trying to stay positive. Most people are keeping their distance but sadly some of the youngsters think they are immune. The police here have no truck with them though they are told to disband and go back home. Back chat is not tolerated as I saw yesterday. Well done the Aussie police! We too have started copying the Uk clapping the Medicare support staff on a Sunday evening.
Where I live, which is popular as a walking destination, the police are being called more than once per day to monitor the social distancing rules as their are some big groups and they can't all live in the same house.
The smart shops are doing take aways here for the shroomers etc, coffee shops likewise for the stoners.
Some idiot in Aldershot demanded to know who the paramedics were treating , when the paramedic refused to provide the info , said idiot spat in his face . he has been jailed for 26 weeks and fined £200.00 . hope is in there for the whole 26 weeks !!!
Grow your own kits are selling really well online too, plus a lot more people are trying a bit of guerrilla gardening due the perceived lack of scrutiny due to lockdown. Be interesting to see whether there will be changes to a few laws around the world.
There's plenty of evidence for decriminalisation having positive effects. Agriculture will need the boost a cash crop would bring after this nonsense is over. https://www.theguardian.com/news/20...licy-is-working-why-hasnt-the-world-copied-it
Isn't cultivation (unless it's rooms full) largely ignored now anyway in some parts of the country ? Remember Northumberland police saying a few years back that they simply weren't gonna bother targeting it anymore.
I have been growing shrooms for a few years and really enjoy them. Never sold any, just share them with friends and a few enlightened members of the family. There's been a lot of research into micro-dosing psilocybin and it's something that a lot of scientists are now starting to accept as hugely beneficial in the treatment of depression and dementia. There is a whole series of research experiments going on and maybe one day psychedelics will be legal. They are certainly a lot less dangerous than alcohol and are not addictive at all. Shrooms have been a real blessing during this coronavirus lockdown. Hopefully a more enlightened and reasoned approach to psychedelics will result in them becoming decriminalised. People who need them for health benefits would be able to get them, and those who want to experience inter-stellar space travel or time-dimension warping from home can do that. Meeting aliens and observing the birth of stars doesn't harm anyone.
If he wants to justify that, then he needs to tell us that they have no other help in their community. No one checks in on them, no system in place. And I'm calling BS. There's help everywhere, just ask.
My Mrs does a library run for old peoples home, we ask around before going to Boots. We post on a community page in case someone needs something. There's people self isolating getting annoyed with the attention! There is no excuse. I want to visit my old man, but I'm not going too.
Did you know that Covid-19 is called Coronavirus because it wears a protein crown? I didn't. Lots of little facts in this very balanced piece from The Guardian on how the human body defends/attacks and copes with new disease like Covid-19: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/apr/10/heres-how-body-gains-immunity-coronavirus
Pretty much. People in London also smoke openly, don’t think the Old Bill are remotely arsed tbh. I did notice the other day that the three benches near the main Seven Sisters Rd entrance to Finsbury Park have been removed, presumably to stop people congregating. Mostly that’s where the dealers and puffers seem to congregate.
Chum of mine grows using coffee grounds mixture, edibles, psychs and green. Keen sailor likes a drop of rum to. He's usually found with a smile on his face.
