Very well done Scully. I suspect from what I read on here most would have done the same.

If any schools or businesses in and around The Harrogate/Leeds area have any 0.8 or 0.5mm polypropylene sheets in storage that you would be willing to donate to HGS to enable us to continue making PPE visors for the NHS we would really appreciate it. Please get in touch.
    X

The above is s post from Harrogate 6th Form college, staff making masks for nhs staff..
Brilliant job... In spite of spin from the govt that there are no issues with PPE..

    From a dialogue with a friend. :
Here’s a serious question for all my medically-qualified/experienced friends. How many people in an ICU ‘sit up’ are ‘talking’ and in ‘good spirits’? Don’t you have to be more ill than that to be in an ICU? Would a person talking in good spirits, able to sit up not be moved into a bed in a regular ward to relieve staff, the bed, equipment etc in these trying times!
Perhaps he is more ill than is being reported. Perhaps he is not ill enough to be in ICU but is being kept there?
    Any ideas?
And of course the Government could still be lying about his condition, but I’m leaving that aside for the moment. Any other plausible medical explanations?
    ....
My colleague at Bradford Royal infirmary was telling me that about half of people currently going into ICU there are not coming out alive...

As I understand it ..... you go to ICU when you cannot breathe on your own or with the oxygen filters.....So you have to be very ill.... so they are either underplaying this or he is having special treatment.....

Just had a zoom meeting with my colleague from a hospice

The hospice is on lockdown, at least one person has died from cv. Two inpatients have got it. No new admissions, no visitors. Only essential staff in the building
It spread through the hospice like wildfire, (not my words)...
    27 staff off
    13 returned after having symptoms
2 staff in hospital with it

They need 4 million a month to carry on..... and the Govt have offer £250m across the whole charity sector.

Looks like they will have to disband their childrens service.

A snapshot of just one institution.

I hope I am wrong, I really do, but I keep thinking of the pigs in ‘Animal Farm’. It could be construed that someone is playing a ‘Napoleon’-like gambit on us all...

The money is there, it just needs to be brought back into the system. The will to do it is another matter. Far too few with far too much.

It has happened before in a time of crisis. No one party has all the answers, and certainly people who want to protect only their financial interests don't.

Do we really need to actually form a new government? Seems a bit of a waste of time for the negotiations that would be required. They should just ignore party politics and work together to come up with solutions.

A complete and utter failure to prepare, deadly delay in responding, failure to join with our EU partners is sourcing, manufacturing and bidding for PPE.....
