Love old photos of stadiums. Madness that the Williams structure there was essentially unchanged (minus a roof extension) until a few years ago. The internal layout is exactly the same in those photos as it was up to the 2010's.

My boy also stopped going when the seats were removed from the East End.
We have better facilities no doubt but Ashton Gate has lost its passion.
    Ashton and Johnson are plastic.
Don't tell me Johnson's passionate because has rucks with opposing managers or referees.
Johnson can't handle having things on a plate as he has been given all his pampered life by his father and now Uncle Lansdown.

Give it a rest. We're talking about the redevelopment of Ashton Gate and you're digging about Johnson. Yes we get it. You don't like Johnson. Can we just take that as read and not have it infect every thread!!!

used to stand [roughly ] where the 10th point of the barrier is pointing to the right handside of of the goal bottom left B&W pic
football stadium loo's need to be functional and accommodate bigger numbers of "scruffy peeps ..lol " over a shorter time ….Showcase needs to cater for posher smaller numbers over about the same time and "the need " is usually after the greed!

The environment affects fans. The way they are controlled affects behaviour. Stewards telling fans to mind their language, calm down, sit down, don't do that, you can't or even put a flag up in E34 (near away fans) all pacifies supporters, but it has nothing to do with Lee Johnson.

It has more to do with Steve Lansdown & Bristol Sport.

And me. Palls of cigarette and pipe smoke swirling around the whole ground. Everything seemed dark in those days (and yes I know we're talking about night matches <laugh>) but everyone always seemed to be in dark clothes.
It was only the players kits and the pitch that brought a little colour to proceedings.
