He's got a lot of stick from alot of the guys on here and i know alot of you think he should be replaced by marveaux
but in this last week i think he's starting to show what he's capable of...against forest he was really instrumental in helping us win setting up both simpsons and colos goal with one of the nicest crosses ive seen in a long time
and again today obertan terrorized the blackburn full backs with his pace and trickery and was probably unlucky not to score...but was defiantly mom for me
i think without joey barton on the right we look alot freer with obertan being able to start counter attacks at pace and go past a man with a good end product which is certainly more than barton did on the right

+just as a little side note who do you think should play as our lone striker ba or best?

Obertan was decent today - I say keep him in the team for now.

I think he's exciting to watch. He can easily sprint past his man, just needs to tidy up his final ball and finishing. His passing can be woeful at times, but other times he's switched the play amazingly (i.e. Best's goal vs. Fulham). I think Marveaux should be given a bit more of a run out as he's looked fantastic in his appearences, but maybe Pardew is using the fitter player, which is clearly Obertan.

I've said since we signed he will be great for us and he has been. Too many people buy into what papers write and pundits say about players. Man United outcasts are basically almost the best players you can get.

When Santon is fit, Marv will start on the left unless Jonas improves. Obertan has really impressed me in the last couple of games. Just a bit of an improvement with his end product and he will be a really good player!

hes a great player and has been improving every game... hes exciting to watch , when he gets the ball he will run at the full backs or just into space. you can tell that everyone is warming to him as when he gets the ball the crowed start to get excited.

I haven't seen enough of him to decide yet. He's got good pace though.

Thing that pisses me off about him, is he sometimes just stands there when we don't have the ball, there was one moment today where he lost the ball with a pass then let the guy run past him like 4 yards away, and he just stood there watching him run.

Yeh I noticed this too. Obertan is hot and cold I think. Sometimes even in the same match he is both fantastic and lazy/lacking in confidence. Today was his best game for us so far though I'd say.

This. Obertan looks amazingly good on the ball. Just get that end-product right as well as his work rate and he's a class player.

Really hope Obertan can keep up his form and fitness, we've missed having some pace down the right ever since Milner left if I'm honest. (Well, we had a bit of it with Routledge I suppose.)

Does beg the question where Marveaux's going to play though. Two wingers?

I think Jonas ought to be replaced by Marveaux, at least it would give us one left-footed player on the left (controversial I know, but hey, this is me, I'm crazy). I was impressed by Obertan sprinting at full pace at 3-1. The others were dwindling about wasting time, he was still trying to do something. I would have droped him last week but he's earned himself a stay on execution. However Marveaux deserves a start.

Ober and Jonas know that they have until Santon is fit to show they are the winger who should start imo.

I'd like to see neither start, actually. HBA on the right, Marv on the left, 2 strikers.

And for te second Q, neither, we should play both up front.

Wouldn't play a lone striker. Can't drop Ba or Best after that performance both were excellent (minus Bestys finishing)

Ben Arfa to make cameo v Wolves. No pressure to rush him back.

Got to say Obertan was up against a woeful left back, still you can only beat what's in front of you and he did that well. I dont think you can fully judge Jonas' performances, since he's covering heavily for Raylor too, although Marveaux has looked good. And HBA would be replacing Ba in my books (although it's harsh dropping our hattrick hero) since Ba plays the no.10 role, dropping deep and linking play when he's on.
