We saw him in one of the clubs at top end of Holderness Road, not really sure it was late 70's now, more probably middle years - I married in '75 and not sure if she was my wife or still g/f. DW had just returned from Oz, guy still had a great voice and could really work a crowd.
Bloody 'ell - does the front man think one (or all) of his band mates are carrying corona # 19 ? Obviously not in retrospect, he took his mask off a couple of times, so maybe he's the transfer agent ! Are they still together ?
It was 2003 and he had several mikes set up for different sounds, including the one in the mask.Mike Patton is a right-wing twat but like any genius nut-job musico he knows how to make his sound.
We wait, hang around for ages, then it comes... It's oft a very disappointing result... RIP Alvin Lee...
April 1982 i believe?….....I'm such a saddo ive still got the ticket stub stuffed in the cover of the 7 inch single in the loft!!!
I don't know if its ever been done, but I'd suspect he'd deffo be in the top 4 or 7 most notable Hull celebs if there was a vote. Can't put 'em in order myself, but I'd include... David Whitfield Amy Johnson Tom Courtenay Willy Wilberforce Clive Sullivan (adopted Welsh son) Chris Chilton Ken Wagstaff ( adopted Notts lad) Oh yes - Brian Rix - almost forgot. Worth a new thread this to determine Not606 Hull City (AFC)'s official vote methinks. 2 of the above went to the same school (in two guises) as me ma & I went to. I hobknob with Hull gentry history
I never envy the young - most of 'em make the same mistakes I did. Problem is, they never heed sage advice ! Why would they ? In this case Quill, I envy you, you young bastard
