If you had mentioned that he had offered you a big SD mug as well I might have been inclined to believe this post, as you haven't I'm calling bullshit !
It’s not about being fair mate it’s about being practical and minimising the risk of life and also financial ruin.
It’s not as simple as that. And mark my words here a lot of leagues will cancel the season. Whether or not the premier league will or the championship will is debatable because of money.
Risk of life? To who? It's more practical to continue when the pandemic is over. Ending the season will cause financial ruin
Think about what you have just wrote. If we are still talking about covid in August/September, then that's pre-season out the door, the start of another season disrupted, contract fights, kit deals, season ticket problems. This season is dead, they just don't want to lose the money. Football will be lucky to recover from this without a massive crisis. I'm fully expecting 2020 to change the whole infrastructure.
You should consider yourselfs very lucky. Being owned outright by Mike makes you one of the safest clubs in the land. He might be a twat, but he won't go bust.
Maybe the PL are finally seeing a sense of reality. Anyone thinking the world will go back to the way it was soon, is ****ing deluded.
It could well be that this is going on well into next spring if we get a second wave and they may just find it easier to complete this season then rather than start a new one. Yeah, it might cause a problem with contracts and sponsorships but the answer to that may well be just suck it up and use the players you have. Everyone will be in the same boat so it is still a level playing field.
