They won't have to give it back as it's awarded at the end of the season. A lot of clubs borrow against it though.

relative to earnings etc...these are paltry contributions I’m seeing from PL players across all the clubs.
Gareth Southgate has agreed to a 30% pay cut.
Gareth Southgate has literally no work to do at the minute. He doesn’t even have to go for a run to stay fit for the start of the new season.
I know he’s a nice guy but he’s not immune from criticism.
