    Manchester Evening News.

My hope is that he's only keeping all options open until the end of the season.

There is a list of reasons why I hate that twat, this is just another one. The fine means nothing, the apology is just hollow. It's just one rule for these pampered prima donnas and another for us punters. <grr>

I would still feel the same. The integrity of football as a whole must be upheld by completing the season. Those only advocating for voiding the season are for self interest only and sorry but I would never agree with that.

    The integrity of football

    -----------------------------

What integrity? All I've read is, we need this tv money, we must finish the season so we can get next seasons money. This is the reckoning that brings football to its knees, and my only regret is it will be the small fry who are killed off in droves rather than those greedy bastards at the top. Including Saints. People banging on about getting this done are showing utter contempt for the dead & dying. Its just a sport, wrapped in a business, run by ****s. **** them.

I'm sad this has happened while you are top, don't take it personal.

    Some fine comments.

May I ask how do you think clubs in the PL will be able to meet their financial obligations without any income ?

If it's true as you say and football is brought to it's knees by this crisis, it's likely the PL will suffer the most. The huge contracts they have to honour come what may are now looking like absolute folly.

We already have some dodgy skint mortgage ridden Chinese chump at the helm, so it looked as though we were heading into danger. But this is really going to screw things up. We have been so badly run over the last three years its almost undone all the good work since our L1 days. Some decisions we have made have been truly baffling, like giving Fraiser Forster a new six year deal worth £80k+ a week when he had 4.5 years remaining on the old one. Add to that some right twats who've gone out on loan, who will still be on our books come July. Mistake after mistake. But the money is so top heavy in the EPL, that as long as you stay up, you paper over the cracks. It does not feel sustainable though, and only matter of time before clubs like Bournemouth, Watford and even WHU are brought to the tower to be served justice.
I imagine Sky's subscriptions along with the others have fallen off a cliff, so they will already be looking for ways to renege on the deal. This will set in motion things that will surely define the next decade. How can we not have appropriate wage caps, and safety nets in place? I'd be surprised if we don't see 30% of L2 go into financial difficulties in the coming months, and some won't survive. I don't want to follow Saints in the top flight while the bottom of the pyramid collapses. We should all be in this together. The whole package needs looking at, along with the players who happily sign the deals on the good days, while ignoring societies issues on the bad. I'm not just trying to point the finger and the working class lad who's done good, but we need to start somewhere. And the governing body of Football seems to be talking money more than most, with the safety of the wider community apparently forgotten. So perhaps now is the time, while the water looks choppy but the storm hasn't hit to ask the question. What is footballs plan? Is the tv deal worth more than peoples lives and livelihoods. If we all can't afford to go next year, shall all the games just be played behind closed doors, do they actually care at all? Probably not.
    Rant over.

Spurs have put their entire staff of 550 on gardening leave or whatever it’s called while they await a decision from the Prima Donna players about taking a wage cut

    Afternoon HR

The player, their agents, and Sky have more power than the football governing bodies and clubs unfortunately. The game at its highest level is more about the money then the football itself.

There aren't too many teams like Southampton that are careful with their money, perhaps Burnley and Wolves; yet too many clubs want to relinquish their cash as soon as possible.

Why on earth did you not sell Che Adams to us for 20m?

Because we didn’t offer 20m. We were borrowing him initially. Not quite as tempting

Feel a little sorry for the lad. Ten mins here and there isn't helping him.
We'd have been foolish to let him go though, waffer thin squad and putting all our eggs in the Danny don't get injured basket is madness! (but has worked thus far)
