I remember at school the teachers used to say “sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me” when we got butthurt about something.

If you were getting 'butthurt' you may have had more problems to worry about...

The world is full of snow flakes who want to point the finger at everyone else apart from themselves .. blame the police .. blame the government.. blame anything and everyone .. but I wonder how much they actually contribute to helping during this crisis apart from constant whining and whinging.

In general I'm a supporter of the police, but he must have missed the common sense training day. **** knows how he passed the sergeant exam!

The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.

He was given a very public bollocking by his superiors and obviously they weren't charged with anything.

    Up 367 to 1651.

The dip in numbers wasn’t sustained.

The fact he thought that was acceptable in the first place, and had still made the rank of sergeant speaks volumes on the attitude and recruitment policies of them as an organisation. They covered their arses by saying he'd had a talking to, but someone that has reached that level should never of had the actions he carried out in his mind in the first place. It's not an isolated incident either.

They really are in danger of ****ing up the good will that is essential for maintaining the current restrictions on movement. They Police with consent, and are simply members of the public in uniform, and I think as an organisation they need reminding of that, rather than this apparent perception that they are the law or a paramilitary force.

It’s a common problem in all fields of enforcement and policing.
Parking Attendants who issue tickets for ridiculous reasons.
Police Officers who cannot see beyond a regulation
    Bailiffs who misinterpret the law

The copper handles the situation badly. He was showing of to his female colleague. Ego took over from common sense.
Mind you it was a ****ing mess.

I see. 1651 is the death toll in England. 1808 is for the UK. I would assume one of the countries that makes up the UK hasn’t declared yet which is why the Department for health and social care hasn’t posted the figures yet.

Are the community deaths (the ones that didn’t die in hospital) going in to today’s figures?

Those are the numbers for England alone.

The number of coronavirus deaths in the UK has risen to 1,808 in the biggest day-on-day increase so far.

It’s a jump of 393 from Monday’s death toll of 1,415. The previous highest increase was 260 on Saturday.

I suppose looking at it with an old gits head on, it's a generation thing. Tying in with some of the posts a page or two back the youngsters today seem to have a complete lack of common sense and now ability to make it up as they go along. Everything has to be written down in black and white, which always give them the option to hide behind them.

Never used to be like this.
