After 10 days of lockdown, I'd like to know wtf long term unemployed people do.
I'm doing 12 hours a day working from home - probably doing equivalent of 8 hours in the office - and that's because I'm struggling to concentrate.

From personal experience, I can recommend not using the couch for a conference call on a Friday afternoon. Twice I fell fast asleep & somehow got away with it.

    No I'm afraid not.

The government are paying for it because politicaly it's now essential to do so..

There's no desire and never has been to stop covid 19 entering the UK and I think that's something we're all aware of. Therefore the amount of exposure both to the virus itself and the risks of overseas travel have to fall upon the individual. Not saying we shouldn't be helping people get home just that if they don't or can't be repatriated then they were aware of the risks and still made the decision to travel.

For example I didn't need or wait for the government to tell me my parents (in their 80's) needed to be isolated. I took that decision(with them) and implemented it because it was wholly apparent it needed to be done.

Interesting if a little (?) biased. I don't pretend to understand high finance and politics, but if what we read is true then the US economy under Trump is doing well. Isn't that part of what a country's leader should aim for. But as for the man himself I find it hard to understand why the American people follow him so closely. They must realise that the man is regarded world wide as a clown and a narcissist, not that that should prevent him from being a good president. There are a lot of clowns in leader's positions around the world, but that shouldn't stop them from being, at least, cognisent of the basic needs of their people when in a crisis and act accordingly.

For me, it’s inexplicable that 50% approve of his handling if this crisis according to the latest poll.

I understand the cult following of about 30-40% and their blind allegiance it’s the other 10-20%!

There’s a couple stuck in India on a holiday of a lifetime who keep being interviewed and begging to be brought home.

Well, I suppose they should be, but in contrast my in laws had a similar dream holiday booked, they took the decision to cancel it (and lost thousands) a couple of days before they were due to go. Even though - at that time- India was reporting few deaths.

I have more sympathy for people working out there.

Problem is we now live in a society where responsibility for your own actions is non existent. Without failure it's someone else's fault.

Well yes but what I actually meant is are they going to be going into forced isolation for two weeks or are they going to let them roam free infecting as they go. 10's of thousands, is the figure I have heard, and the first thing they do when they get home is go to the supermarket to get food.

    On Twitter:

The NHS gets £1billion every 3 days. One billion pounds, taken from the public, including the poorest, and given to NHS managers to deliver "free" healthcare. Yet when those managers say "We haven't bought enough basics like masks or beds" literally nobody asks why not.

Just been told we are going to be making 4 components for ventilators. 1st batch of 5000 followed by a 2nd batch of 5000. That's 40,000 components to be made on 10,000 ventilators. Starting next week, factory back fully open 24/7. Talk about cutting it fine! This should have been sorted weeks ago.

At least we can crack on now! Beware any ventilation system that has "Emu" scratched on it!

Can you get off here and go to work then <laugh>.

To them who think it's just the flu.
Less than 5 a day die on our roads.
WE'VE JUST DONE 110X DAILY ROAD DEATH IN ONE DAY.

On average 600 people die with flu complications IN AN AVERAGE YEAR.

WE'VE JUST EQUALED A YEAR'S FLU DEATHS IN JUST OVER 24 HOURS AND WE'VE NOT HIT A PEAK YET.

Have to say I was shocked here to see those figures. Presume everyone now sees how serious this is. Nearly 600 families mourning deaths of loved ones they didn’t even get to say goodbye to. Shocking

Puzzling thing about the figures is that four times the number of deaths than those in icu’s. Question is why are so many dying without makeup no it
    To icu at all
