I thought about doing that sort of thing about 3-4 weeks ago before **** got serious. I don't think the footage will have that much influence on people
It was plain stupid, as it was completely OTT. If it had pictured hundreds of cars queuing or people all congregating then fair enough, but it didn’t. Oh look here’s a couple walking their dog! ****ing idiotic from whichever wooden top orchestrated it. At a time when people need the authorities to be clear but also sensitive and understanding, it was a really bad call. Same as the plank copper who tried handing out a ticket for a store who chalked on the pavement to denote distancing , so he threatened them with criminal damage ffs
just thought it was a pointless exercise which just led to widespread ridicule . I could understand checking large crowds hadn't flocked to "beauty" spots like the previous weekend but bitching about a couple walking their Lab 2 miles from anyone . Tbh I looked at it and thought if my Mrs hadn't had her stroke that would be her and our dog Edit - must learn to type quicker .
25% of NHS staff are currently unavailable to work because the Tories wanted to save all the tests for Boris Johnson and Prince Philip rather than NHS staff.
The government announces it will temporarily stop persecuting immigrants over accommodation and employment checks during the coronavirus but will resume persecution once the threat has passed.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...eme-court-judge-lambasts-disgraceful-policing “The behaviour of the Derbyshire police in trying to shame people in using their undoubted right to take exercise in the country and wrecking beauty spots in the fells so people don’t want to go there is frankly disgraceful,” he said. “This is what a police state is like, it is a state in which a government can issue orders or express preferences with no legal authority and the police will enforce ministers’ wishes”
As usual the minority get highlighted and then people begin to think that all officers are the same. Majority of officers wouldn't do what that muppet with the chalk did. I haven't seen the drone thing, so I can't comment. Police don't want to prosecute the public for social distancing, but they are starting to be left no choice.
Priti Patel says she will “demonstrate how valued overseas NHS staff are to the UK” by not deporting their family members for 12 months! Also, she's generously lifting legal restrictions on the number of extra hours they can work!
Suspect my neighbours may have CV. Seen the bloke coughing and splutterring for a day or two, this morning they've been cleaning everything including jet washing the driveway, bins, etc. They've not been sticking to the guidelines, get togethers with their family etc. We usually put each other's bins out, fair to say I'll be cleaning the handles and wearing gloves when touching them for a next few weeks
https://www.theguardian.com/society...onavirus-patients-for-healthier-ones-bma-says Coronavirus patients with a poor prognosis could be taken off a ventilator even if they are stable or improving to make it available for someone else deemed more likely to survive, under guidelines drawn up by UK doctors. The doctors’ union suggests older people and those with an underlying illness may not get treatment that could save them, with younger, healthier patients given priority instead. So sad. Doctors being put into a position where they're forced to violate "do no harm".
For when Boris Johnson comes out and claims no one could have seen this benefits spike coming, here's a report of exactly that from over 2 years ago https://www.theguardian.com/money/2018/jan/25/uk-workers-chronically-broke-study-economic-insecurity
