Good Morning. It's Thursday 26th March, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road.

The only player Bielsa had a rift with is.......

In his latest Q and A session, Phil Hay revealed that the only player that Marcelo Bielsa hada a rift with was Pontus Jansson.

The 29yo ex fans favourite signed for Brentford last Summer in a move move 3.5m, which many saw (including Brentford) as one of the bargains of the Summer

as asked whether he knew of any rifts the Argentinean boss had had with players given he has been labelled as “El Loco” previously, and Hay name-dropped Jansson.

According to the Ex Chief Football writer for the YEP, Hay said: “He can be hard work and he’s not afraid to ruffle feathers but his authority at Leeds is absolute. No-one takes him on and everyone defers to him.

“It’s one reason when the last two seasons have gone so well – the dressing room has been on a tight leash. Jansson is the only player he tired of.”

Surprisingly, it seems that Jansson's form has suffered since moving to West London. Looking at the statistics, was Bielsa right to get rid of the Swede when he did, or would Janson have continued to flourish in West Yorkshire had he stayed?

Augustin's Instagram post will upset many Leeds fans

Whilst many Leeds players have been sending social media videos and messages to fans showing them keeping fit and training; on loan French International Jean Kevin Augustin has sent out an Instagram to fans boasting a new hair cut whilst lying in bed!

The 20m rated forward, who has been on loan at Elland Road since the latter part of January, has only accumulated 49 minutes of game time since his move from Monaco.

The coronavirus could not have come at a better time for the 22yo. He has a real chance to get fully fit, and make an impact once the season recommences.

I'm not sure Leeds fans will take kindly to picture, especially as Leeds are picking up most of his £65,000 per week wages! I'm not sure Augustin gets it!!!!!

Pick your Leeds Utd dream time

If you could pick your own Leeds Utd dream time, who would be in it?

The rules are, they must have played for Leeds since 2005!

To make the team selection more difficult, you're not allowed to have more than two players from the same season!!!

    Good morning everyone,

Well done for continuing these threads while there's almost nothing happening.

Jansson - He's a player that thrives on atmosphere, I can't imagine he's enjoying playing for Brentford as much. I would've loved to have seen him play with White because I still think he's one of the best defenders in the league on his day but only those in the dressing room will know if his skill made up for the level of disruption he caused.

Augustin - I'm not too fussed about the instagram thing. Footballers are allowed time to relax, but I don't get the impression that he's too bothered about being at Leeds. I hope I'm proven wrong.

We've had some crap since 2005 so I'd keep most of the team we have now. Perhaps the odd couple of Delph, Beckford, Becchio etc but would they fit into Bielsa's system? James Milner was the first player I thought of but he left in 2004. I'll have to have a think about the keeper.

Morning all. The Augustin thing doesn’t bother me really, if he was in a park kicking a ball he’d have been crucified. I just hope he uses the break to catch up with his fitness.

    Bakke
    Schmeichel
    McCormack
    Gary Kelly

    Morning everyone
I'm not really here so you might not be able to read this, but just a thought in these trying times.
Let's all be a bit circumspect in what we post other than banter.
    A good maxim in life.
That which we find praiseworthy in others do our best to emulate
That which we find lacking in others in ourselves amend
    Sounds a bit eyebrow
But we all need each other
Hope in 6 months time we are all still here with our loved ones intact
    <cheers>

    Morning all,

A fit Davide Somma would have fitted into this team and system perfectly. The guy had everything.

Morning all. Just wonder if Augustine can improve his fitness levels while at home. Obviously they’ll have the best of equipment but can’t see that being enough to get the lad up to Bielsas required levels. Agree with Tommo on Jansson. Definitely needs an atmosphere to be at his best.

Would have been difficult for him surely with the likes of McCormack, Wood, Beckford, Becchio, Hulse

Leeds United's players, coaching staff and senior management have volunteered to take a wage deferral because of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Championship leaders say the move will ensure that all 272 full-time non-football staff can continue to be paid.

Leeds say the virus will cost them "several million pounds" each month.

"My players have demonstrated an incredible sense of unity and togetherness," said director of football Victor Orta.

"To Marcelo [Bielsa] and his staff and all of the players, we thank them for putting our wider team first and taking care of family".

Great to see the big earners at the club thinking of the lower paid staff <applause>

    No surprise on Jansson

Pontus is still one of my favourite players since our relegation from the premiership

I like players with a bit of edge to their game & a will to win, that Villa goal was a farce!

Also loved the song "Luke Ayling and Berardi...Pontus Jansson, Kyle Bartley", brilliant rendition from the Leeds fans during a night game down at Craven Cottage.....memorable

The Bielsa song taking us up to the premier league also had the line 'Jansson at the back' which has now been replaced by 'Ben White at the back'

Make no mistake about it Pontus was a legend amongst 1000's of Leeds fans, there again I know many fans who couldn't stand Jansson.

My favourite team would be Bielsa's XI with Jansson & Beckford replacing Cooper & Bamford

Sorry to be lazy with only two players from one year but I'm sat in the garden enjoying the lovely weather

Bielsa wouldn't have many of our previous hoofing keepers in his team & mine too after watching football how it should be played over the last two seasons

Morning All (not often I get to say that!).

I think people have a short memory re. Jansson. Every single game he went down injured. Not the worst thing in the world, but it showed how much he wanted to have all eyes on him. Not exactly team player mentality, was it?

The other, really annoying thing was his habit of trying to keep possession in dangerous situations - and losing the ball! It happened so often & we lost a lot of key goals because of this. But of course, if he'd got rid, all eyes would have left him, wouldn't they?

Good player, but not a great player, & certainly not a team player. And yet it was crucial to be a team player as the coach was trying to build a team's team. His demise was inevitable & he brought in on himself.

And Leif Davis will hopefully prove to be better than both of those.
