Yep, not even going to bother with the shops tomorrow Saying to go shopping “as little as you can” is a direct order from Boris to hoard
I don't think much will change in terms of shopping. Stockpiling has been curbed by the supermarkets rationing everything. I fully expect people not to go out as often.
Looking at it, most peoples behaviour wont change. This was directed at the hundreds of people wandering down the beach together. People still gathering because it was sunny. As usual you think a bit of common sense would do, unfortunately common sense is in short supply with some people. They have to be directly told to stop.
There's a long way to go. The turning point is when recoveries start to outnumber the active cases. Tbh it's my way of coping. Currently active cases 284,669 - recoveries 104,714.
For every official recovery there are likely to be 6-10 others who only had mild symptoms and didn't go to hospital. These weren't active cases in the first place but hopefully they're building up immunity.
This is a major point for cautious optimism tbh. The number of deaths are easily quantifiable, but the number of infection cases is guesswork because a large number of people who are not seriously affected simply won't report it.
There will be people with the virus who aren't included in the figures but that applies to every epidemic. All we have to go on are the reported numbers and that will be what determines the reaction but also when the turning point is determined. The vast majority of reported cases have 'mild' symptoms. I'm trying to be positive here.
Again trying to be positive, one thing it tells me is that amongst all the numbers, the number of fatalities is clear so if there are actually ten times more people with the virus than has been recorded, the virus isn't as lethal as the figures suggest. That gives me more cause for optimism, not less.
