For me it's simple ... complete all competitions or none ... no single competition takes precedence <cheers>

Yep, we're either good to play football or not, no selective games.

Just shows it doesn't matter who you are, if you're in that vulnerable group it's going to be bad.

I still think we could play the domestic season without playing European competition. If we can play here then why should the EFL suffer because teams can't fly around Europe?

European competitions are a complete different entity to domestic leagues, and is completely irrelevant to 90%+ of the professional game here.

I'm in the vulnerable group and so's the missus. It is a concern and I'm more worried for her than I am for myself - yes the heart needed a 'service' but it had no damage at the time of the op and the cocktail of drugs I take each day is aimed at keeping everything 'ticking' over (literally). Think I must have a pretty robust immune system as I seem to be pretty cold and flu resistant - but I'm taking nothing for granted.

The missus however certainly has a compromised immune system as she had her spleen removed when she was just a kid. It's people like her we need to protect and why I've had to drum it into the kids that, no matter how tough it feels, we really do have to limit contact with others as you can't tell who might be carrying it... and the risks sure ain't worth it.

You and your missus stay safe mate. This is going to be LONG process and will require a change of lifestyle in everything we do. Just don't be complacent because catching this fcker really is that simple. I'm an asthmatic and usually a bit of a cocky sod when it comes to my asthma, but I've got people who rely on me so I've got to take it seriously, if not for myself, for them.

All the best mate, look after yourselves <ok>

Serie A should be cancelled, says Brescia's Cellino

Massimo Cellino, the Brescia president, has called for the Serie A season to be cancelled:

“You don’t have to think about when to start again, but if you survive. Everything has to be moved to the next season. It is time for realism, gentlemen. This is the plague. You can no longer play this year. Think about the next one.”

“And I am not saying this because Brescia is last.”

You are probably the last person on Earth who gives a **** about football, go back to the Pool board and keep them entertained.

The Olympics, which were scheduled to take place in July and August, have been postponed to 2021. But the PL season has to be completed because Phil Thompson says the competition will lose integrity if it isn't.

The competition will also be bankrupt, but I get it, you'd rather elite football didn't exist than see Hendo lift another trophy

Inside the Premier League’s coronavirus meeting

    https://theathletic.co.uk/1691634/2020/03/21/premier-league-meeting-qa/

Uniting all those dialling in was the prospect of a massive financial penalty for failing to complete the season.AsThe Athletic revealed on Friday, executives were told that broadcasters such as Sky and BT Sport could demand a total of £762 million be returned if the campaign was curtailed, to cover the games still due to be shown on TV. It would be considered breach of contract.

There would be the prospect of negotiation on that figure, sources argue, given the Premier League’s importance to both channels — but it remains enough of a concern to bring a common consensus.

“There was a togetherness that we need to sort this out,” said a source. “Finance was the big motivator.”

This is not about greed, however. “Ultimately, we’re just businesses that make tiny profits,” said one Premier League executive. “If the cashflow dries up we’re no different to hotel groups or anything else. If we don’t put on the show we don’t get paid. If we don’t finish the season it’s a massive, massive problem.

“It’s not just the TV money — after that the sponsors won’t pay you because they’re not on TV and you’ll also miss out on gate money, which is £5 million to £6 million per game for some clubs.”

Japan’s prime minister, Shinzo Abe told the group that he was determined to hold the Games “in their complete form” – with the full quota of athletes and spectators – as a symbol of the world’s triumph over coronavirus

Just like I said Henderson lifting the PL trophy one or two weeks after the league resumes will also be a symbol for all of football and not just LFC
