I'll have a problem tomorrow. Mrs Jab cooked a lovely ginger chicken curry Indonesian style, not fiery but spicy with plenty of veg. Need to shop, daren't cough could cause a full scale emergency.
I have Tourette's, or something in that family (never bothered to find out because I don't really need treatment). Mild enough that 99% of people never notice, because I don't have any facial tics or verbalizations. Of course, what I do have is a tic where I clear my throat/lightly cough. Often. I am going to be an agent of panic for the next while.
It was a beauty, just had a second portion better for a couple of hours standing. Some aubergine balado from yesterday along with the veg. Washed down with a robust red it's the sofa snooze next. Current situation keeps us indoors a bit more my turn next in the kitchen it'll be an Italian job..
Really? There are people like that....history is littered with them (please don't ask for examples....I'm hitting the rum) but that guy is ambitiously callous!
As confirmed curryholics know, it's almost always better given a huge time to rest. So make a lot and the second batch beats the first.
You are like Mrs No7. I love Aubergine, she hates it. I eat meat and she is a veggie that hates mushroom, cheese and aubergine. I have a real challenge cooking for her every night
Ooh said Mrs Jab.mmm. I'll see what wets the taste buds tomorrow, risotto maybe. There'll be a reckoning with the scales sometime later but for now let's eat.
St Jabbo Is there any chance of putting the recipe / ingredients on this thread as I would like to try to cook this? Thanks very much Cheers Ian
We have compatible tastes extending to Mrs Jab enjoying pie, mash and liquor in the Roman road and me eating some unusual dishes in asia.
It is weird how some ingredients seem totally pointless! I cooked an Italian recipe with some cheese sprinkled over an aubergine. The picture looked fabulous but it was pretty tasteless. I regret that I have kicked Nigella into touch and my favourite cook these days is Sabrina Ghayour. I have all of her cook books and the recipes are generally on the money. There is one with an aubergine served with ginger which I am intrigued about. Of the recipes from her books that I have cooked, only the chicken with saffron was a disappointment. I could not see that the saffron did anything other than cost me a lot of money and turn the chicken yellow. It had zero effect on the taste.
Girls are weird ain’t they ...... I love mushrooms and cheese .....but aubergine? I just don’t get it? I remember years ago I was in Istanbul with work and they served me this fish dish covered in mushed up aubergine........... Let’s just say I went hungry but drank some lovely wine
